I love this Opel Terje.... It reminds me of a mid sixties dodge or plymouth...except for the headlights...like maybe a charger grille and a barracuda body sort of... When my father was stationed in France he bought an Opel and had it shipped home, then drove it from New York to L.A. Im not sure of the year of the Opel, he got out of the army in 1960, so...it would have had to have been a 1955-60 model..he drove it for several years, then bought a 1963 chrysler 300

Well, I stole a recipe from grade school when I was a kid, and every now and then I get the urge for what my school called "toastie dogs" so you look in the fridge, theres 2 hot dogs left...but no buns because theres 10 dogs in a pack, and only 8 buns in a pack so what do you do? you heat up the oven, grab 2 slices bread lightly butter 1 side, lay them butter side down on a sheet pan grab some cheese I like kraft american cheese slices lay them on the bread lay the leftover hot dogs on top of the cheese you pull up 2 opposite corners of the bread and kinda attach them together with a toothpick, bake for a few minutes till the bread starts to get "toastie" remove from oven and eat...plain or with dipping sauces/condiments crude and simple, yep but thats what passed for a nutritional lunch in grade school where I grew up.
  3. Frank, When I saw you were looking for a 3 into 2 style header..I did a little searching.. found a couple sites... these are what I had on my 3.1 stroker motor http://www.nismoparts.com/catalog/?section=297 Here is another one I saw through a nissan dealership http://www.nissanraceshop.com/product/332656/performance-lseries-header-system-6cyl-99996e1142 now keep in mind these are larger diameter headers..."race" applications...so to speak..more for a built motor that needs to be "opened up" so to breathe better.. Do you have a stock motor in your Z? if you do, you might want to read through this forum topic : http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?24866-240Z-Header-Recommendation
  4. Thats what I want to hear Virgil, I tried to get my son into Z's...after 2 weeks of working on that 73 Z I bought for 700 bucks he said the dreaded words: Dad, I really want a Honda...sigh... You could put a resonator in the exhaust, that would tone down the sound a bit..

  9. Nice ride...I need something like this... I just ran accross one of these exact cars over on JNC for sale...$12k...REALLY clean looking... http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=17033 my worry would be the emissions and safety issues to make it a legally driveable car here in the states...since its a 1976.

  11. it was a simple install...just the 2 wires going forward....for his application with the kick panel speakers he will need the extra 4 wires going forward for the speakers...
  12. Hi Simzger I have the same speaker unit in the back of my 71 Z car, but I left my stock unit in the dash as you plan to do. I instead installed an inexpensive kenwood headunit in the same box with the 6x9 speakers...see pics below...the kenwood came with a remote control, so...I can control the basic functions from the front seat....I just click the remote over my right shoulder...it works out pretty well..once you have all your preset stations and sound levels configured...its easy to control. you would want to find a headunit with an i pod dock input of course... As for wiring I followed the factory harness on the drivers side..INSIDE the quarter panel, then it comes out at the bottom of dogleg area, runs under the vinyl along the floor at the scuff plate, behind the left kick panel and up to the steering column area. I did NOT need an amp...the headunit supplies 25watts a channel x 4 ( plenty for the 2 kicker 6x9's ) So, rather than go to the battery, I used "t tap connectors" into the constant 12v for memory and ACC wire for power supply. I did not cut wires. its been 4 years since i did this, and no problems at all. If I was doing a high powered amplifier setup I would of course run to the battery..and put a fusable link inline..do not hook up your amp to the ignition harness...I still have the factory am radio hooked up to the stock speaker, so I can turn it on for nostalgia if I wanted too...

    if you have to ask.....

Nice numbers John, so...from 325 at the engine, to 282 at the wheels is like a 13% drop thru the drivetrain...then with tweaking you got the drop down to ummm less than 10% drop...to the wheels.. I figure with my street car its more like a 20% loss of power? so im probably around 230hp or so sigh...

Ok, where the hell is that Dyno sheet....OH....here it is right here...(289.4 HP at the flywheel @6300RPM) hmmm...and thats with SU's not triples...The next morning when I came to pickup my engine from Dave, he was dyno running another guys 3.2 stroker with triple mukuni's and he was hitting 318HP....
