1. Yea Mike, Thats pretty much what they just told me a few minutes ago when i went by to talk to them, Should be an announcement by this weekend. Flyer going out in the mail to everyone with specifics. I was also told : It will be a 1 day event at the Store. Last Saturday in April - the 24th. Informal car show. BBQ No autocross event do to SCCA already having every weekend in April booked with events. Yes there will be a Dyno setup. Yes there will be the usual "garage" sale in the back. Yes a big sale in the store as well. Thats all I know at this time...pretty much the same thing we knew last week but at least we know the official announcement and flyer is still on the way from motorsport.
2. Maybe I can swing by there tomarrow at lunch and see if i can find out any more info...ohhh now I have an excuse to drive the Z into work! (instead of that damm gmc truck/couch on wheels...) I'll post any info i find out here asap..

Now just a thought, but Harada ( one of the big power antenna co's ) used to make a standard power antenna that fit the Z real well, and you had the option of the standard chrome/stainless steel antenna or the Black option. the only difference in the part number was a "B" at the end..like MX6-B or whatever the part number was. **UMM** quick note, doing a google search for Harada brings up the antenna co. and also a large supply of images of a model named Ourei Harada ....please dont be distracted by this...that is for the boobs thread..
4. Heh...3 grand...Dave wont do it for that, but if you have the skills to do it yourself maybe 3 grand.
5. Here is the latest Buzz on the West Coast Nationals... Source: Group Z Sports Car Club.. GroupZ scc Inc. Motorsport Auto WCN 2010:Wednesday, February 17, 2010 2:58 PM Here is the latest information straight from MSA: Saturday April 24th 2010, 9AM to 4PM at the store on Collins Ave. in Orange CA. There will be a dyno (registration required) and a BBQ at around noon (RSVP recommended) . The annual garage sale will take place as well during the event. It looks like, in lieu of a formal car show, previous winners are encouraged to bring out their cars for a display. (As far as I'm concerned everyone should bring their car for an informal car show) No permit approval this year for a closed street car show ;( Official announcement will be posted/distributed by MSA on Thursday February 25 and dyno sign ups and BBQ RSVP's will be availble on MSA's website; http://zcarparts. com beginning March 1st. So, this is all the information available as an early approved heads up to those that frequent this site. Even with a scaled back event, let's make this the best 15th Annual West Coast Nationals possible End of Email.
6. Hi Bob! uh oh... now thats a development...i cant imagine where they would put it other than the park.. even though i like the "street scene" on Collins Ave.. it had a different feel to it...more grit, less fluff..more like a real car show, less like a concours event. Collins Ave just has nowhere to expand outward to....without crossing Main or Batavia St.... Sigh, Collins Ave is just too small... Hmm maybe the Mighty ducks or Angels parking lots? (really close to motorsport) though still a asphalt jungle.. but the parking lots are big enough to hold a track event onsite! Hmmmmm...... Wow, now im thinking those big stadium lots might just a good move..... Below a couple of old Motorsport "Street" Nationals pics... The long line to get in... and a shot of the street scene itself....
7. hmm assuming your coil wiring is un molested, check that when the ignition is on, your getting 12v on the + side of the coil, if not, check your fuses. then look at your coil wiring, make sure the connections are clean, and tight. sometimes the "slip on" terminal connections dont make good contact. If you happen to have a spare coil laying around, you could just swap it out real quick if everything else looks good. after that you in for more intense wiring investigation.
8. Omg calling motorsport and asking them personally if there will be a MSA... What a great idea...though it took a guy who, in his spare time, rips apart wiring harness's and figures out a better way to build em to figure out to just call over to motorsport...and ask. ( the rest of us coulda went on like this for awhile..) (sorry i thought it was funny...considering im 2 blocks away from motorsport and couldve stopped in so easy and just asked..but never even considered doing that..)
9. Im sure Greg appreciates the customers very much. I think times are a bit tough out there for business'es such as his. I know if i had to decide on weather or not to spend X amount of dollars on Z parts or pay the bills...id have to pay the bills 1st... ** As for the Nationals, I would love to see the show held back at thier shop again, as nice as the park is, there is something really cool about closing down the streets, and having it right there...though logistically im sure its a real pain to do.
10. What a great run Oakland to Irvine....see ya at the show.

I was wondering down Jamboree Rd. thru the Villa Park area yesterday afternoon, and saw a nice Z fly by the other direction...ok i was sorta lost trying to find the 241 toll road on ramp then turned aroundand went back to chapman realising my mistake, and there goes that guy again....just wondered if it was anyone on the site here I was the guy in the Blue 71 that honked
18. you could just aquire a 2.8 block/head and have him build that. and put your orginal motor in storage until you decide you want to go back to stock... thats what I did. though I cant imagine going back to stock after driving my Rebello for the last 3 years ...nope it aint gonna happen oh..If anyone knows Ray w/ the red 240 from redondo beach/groupZ tell him I got his car up and running! (i lost his number) Lance
19. Ahhh Rebello will make your motor sing I recomend Dave quite highly he did mine a couple years and 12,000 miles ago and ive had no problems at all...if my motor had its way, it would just scream along at 4000-6500rpm all day long Enjoy! Lance

How did this happen and...not cause major body damage?? Saturn plastic body>? ... and whos going to pay for the damage to the Acura TL from the tow truck guy climbing all over it???
Shot at 2007-11-26
22. Wow....2 years...and I just noticed I havnt been here since about 2-2007... Guess work is keeping me busyer than I thought..
23. Im in California but the same thing HAS to apply to my shop as well..steady accounts (car dealers, Insurance Co's, Fleet accounts) have to take priority over classic cars, or I would lose that Re-occuring business forever...and be out of business. I will note that I have 1 of my own Z cars in my shop WAITING...(for over 6 months now) to be worked on ....and its sold to a fellow club member soon as I can get it finished....sigh... Everything else in my shop takes priority over my own cars...
24. Enrique mentioned I should post some thoughts here so I will attempt to express my point of view from a "production" body shop owner. I "paint" 25-35 cars a week, most of those also include some sort of bodywork and or some sort of special prep work...most of these get done in a weeks time and are production friendly vehicles so to speak, beyond these cars I also have what I consider to be "project" vehicles of different levels in my shop, currently i have... 2 Z cars 3 Camaros 2 Mustangs 3 antique Fords (model a's etc) 1 Ranchero 1 LowRider Caprice Whenever one of these type vehicles is brought in knowing what kind attention is needed to make them look good again im automatically telling the customer 1 month (minimum) because I know the hours required will be long and the return (profit) will be low...But I love classic cars, and enjoy making them look nice again. that being said, they Dont pay the bills...so I have to prioritize my work in the shop to make enough money to pay my employees, the bills , myself etc.. Theres also an issue of "flow of work" going thru the shop...I might write say 50 - 60 estimates in a week, then throw in around 10- 15 verbal estimates, add 10 trade vehicles, a couple insurance jobs, and you can see how hectic keeping an exact timeline can be, because not everyone will show up for appointments, (some show up weeks later) trade vehicles (car dealers) need thier vehicles back on thier lots like yesterday, many people just "show up" and drop off cars..out of the blue..insurance jobs start and stop like L.A. freeway traffic, and believe it or not getting people to PICK UP thier cars on time is a considerable issue as well...so i always seem to have a half dozen finished cars im moving around all day for a week till they finally get picked up... and somehow thru all that I manage to make 95% of my customers completely happy...
25. yep just research a few glass shops in your area, if you have a local body shop or mechanic you trust ask them who they use...most auto glass shops are fully mobile and will come to your home or office and do the job. make sure you have the new new seal / weatherstrip for your windshield ready for them to use with the new glass.
