Hey i got my Z from and elderly gentleman. It is a 72' 240Z and its only got 38,000 original miles...all original except a new exhaust system and distributor. If you got the money and time to keep it nice go for it. I've had good experiences with mine. The ironic part is mine idles a little rough but i just adjusted the carb because the idle speed was at 600 rather tan the recommended 750.
  3. I got a problem I don't know quite how to approach. Occasionally when I am driving my 72' 240Z I get to a stoplight. The thing is when i go to accelerate the car either stalls or sputters for quite a few seconds than it kicks in.I was just wondering whether anybody else has had a similar problem and/or they know how i can fix it? Please give me some tips.

  5. Thanks to all for all the help. I feel more confident on buying this car.
  6. Yeah I got it all checked out no leaks, the carb is fine. It runs smoother than the civic i drove earlier. Thanks for the advice
  7. The current owner switched the distributor to electronic. I guess you are right about trusting sellers but i guess i trust him more than other people i've purchased cars from before.
  8. and he already switched to electronic...
  9. well the the guy im buying it from has had it garaged and trys to keep the miles down (only 38000) but he says he takes it out at least twice a month since he stopped driving it regularly last year
  10. I am planning on purchasing a 1972 Datsun 240Z very soon (end of week)...and am wondering what you think about using it as a daily driver to and from work and school mostly. Is it fairly reliable, or what should I expect?
