Need a Plug reading PLEASE!!!
dont know if these pics are good enough , best I could get 1-6 left to right. I noticed 1&2 look alittle whiteish, 3 & 4 alittle brownis 5,6 alittle darker, but all the insulators are sooty, was at .045 just put in new and change to .041, trip webers, mild cam 2.6 bored 30 over, unilte dizzy , running 34 degrees total! went to a club meeting last night and got caught in a F***KING HAIL STORM, both the 77's damn lucky, wasnt anywhere to pull under either!!! looks like maybe one small ding on the roof of the blue one!

got it fixed, replaced ecu and half of it stopped, but then other things showed up, dizzy seems to have been the main prob!

I didnt hook it up PO did, gonna go thru and verify everything soon, my understanding is that the 6AL eliminates the ignition module under the dash, is that not so??

is yours doing it warm and cold, if so start with valve adjust, then do a compression test, check plugs wires and cap!

ok heres an update, I removed all the connectors and cleaned with de-oxit and swapped out the ecu with the one from my blue since I went webbers on it and had never removed the harness and stuff! problem didnt reappear for 2 days on the trip to the dragon BUTTTT after being at the dragon for 2 days a new one started, kinda simialar. prob occured overnight will shitting , at first stratup and there after if you got the revs up around 3500, sitting or driving and let completely off the throtle on the way down the tack would start jumping all over and up to about 4000 (not the engine, just tack) and then die with a strange whirring noise coming from the dizzy area, but would restart immediately! found dizzy to have Alot of sise shaft play, thinking this might be prob, maybe all along, gonna swap sometime this weekend and Ill let you know!

why is 77 4 speed collar longer than 5 speed
Think you are missing the point here, there are 2 different throwout bearings a short and long, sounds like you have the long one and need the short one!

Well I'm back!! ALIVE!!!!!!!! Man it was fun but have alot of mixed opinions about it. # 1 There sure are a lot of IDIOTS out there, mostly bikes! friday 5 crashes 1 fatality, saturday before noon 12 crashes unknown fatalities. and if I ever find that black Viper that made me lock em up to stand off a head on because that dumb A** was passing ON THE BLIND CURVES @$#%#@#*&. Oh and then there was the Miatia that was DRIFTING THE CURVES and lost it and smashed a 300Z, totalled the miatia , Z had to bend out the fender but think he drove it away. But alot of great peeps and great cars! and the Village was nice, maybe need alittle speed control in there!!

No way to tell about the PO. I have spare of all the sensors in the thermo housing so thats not a prob, whats weird is it will only do it one time! then for days it is fine, by days I mean several driving sessions since it doesnt get drive but a few times a week for short (10 mile) juants up to the local pub and such! Havent touched anything in the engine comparetment yet but that time will come, just hate to fix what aint broke you know, hell it appears to be getting in the low to mid 20's for gas milage right now and runs pretty decent!

This has happened twice to me so far so I expect it again. Happens during warm up or right after full temp is reached, will just die DEAD!!! cranck and crank no start, if pedal pumped or held to floor it will jump or stumble or try to start but nothing. let it set for 5 or 10 mins starts right up and no other problems, has happend like 2 weeks apart. dont have all the details of this motor/fi / mods but what I know is msd 6al, stock lookings everthing blaster2 coil, fusable link to maxi fuse upgrade, couple of emission things remove from manifold.Electric cooling fan, no a/c components! have a fuel press gauge installed right after the filter in eng comp piped into the interior and it does NOT loose fuel pressure at that point! Anyone want to take a stab at this one, I have the bible but it doesnt stay out long enough to find and happens when I dont have any tools with me of course!

no it's running great, and they were orignally built and setup for this motor, I got it as a package deal! as far as the linkage adjust that wont do it, One linkage per set of carbs, everything appears to be internal for the right side of each pair!

UPDATE! Ok Had time to play with these yesterday, ran into acouple of odd things per instructions above. Ill start by saying that these have been installed and running for over a year with no significant probls. about 18MPG city. But always felt the werent quite right. Backed off the idle speed screws until I had .006 cleareance between screw and stop (all 3 screws) then turned them in 360 degrees. set the mixture screws at 1 1/2 turns out from seat to start. started enigne, running at 1400 RPM'S backed all 3 spped screws out 1/2 turn took it to 900 to 1000 little rough idle at this point checked air flow on all three sets and this is were things got odd. 2 of the 3 sets showed NO flow reading or low enough not to move the needle on the flow sync meter. one had about 5 on the scale backed off the 5 to about 3 and barely tweekd the other 2 sets and boom had flow about 2. so took the high one down to three and the other 2 sets up to 3 then all 3 up to flow @ 4 on the scale with a stable idle about 850 to 900. all mixture screw adjusted to obtain best idle at at about 1 1/2 to 2 turns from seat. runns pretty good and responsive, BUT what I found on all three sets is that I have a different flow on on the right side carb on each set meaning carb for cylinders 2 4 and 6, all were lower than left side of set, by atleast a half of the scale mean between 3 to 3 1/2 on the scale when left carbs were at 4. Now if I understand things correctly that has to be an inssue with the intial bench setup between the 2 butterfly flaps????? I have never had these off and didnt do the intial setup, and assume there is no way to correct this or balance them equally when installed on engine!! at this tiem not a big deal just curious to know encase someday I want to play again and tear them apart. Also would be curious to know what timing settings peoople using Unilite Dizzys with out vac advance are running. think I am at 17 or 18 static and 35 Total!! Mild cam! 30 over bore.

Dash Cap Woes!!!
Well maybe I should recant here!!! Got another dash from Jmark here and that full cap fit right on no problems! except for my dum arse that glued (siliconed) it on before I looked and discover I put the tach in the speedo slot and vice versa, ARERRGGGGG. but you can very carefully swap the innards from the back side if you are careful hehehehehe
