Hello, I am the proud owner of a 3/74 260Z - it is presently in stock/original condition with approx 90K on the chassis. I finally got the car running and driving after a few issues (headlight switch replacement and upgarded to a 280ZX distributor with MSD 6AL). Now I can move on into the upgrades. My goal with the car is to have a fun driver. I currently have a 400HP Turbo SE-R with Koni Red's, Sectioned/Shortened Struts, GC's, C/C plates for when I want to play around at the track. Other furute upgrades do include the Toyota 4X4 front brake upgrade as well and the rear Maxima conversion as well. I will install either 15" Konig Rewinds or 16" Panasports. I have been searching the forum and found some good info in regards to suspension upgrades and was thinking this is what I might do................ just looking for some advice from the experts. 1. ES master bushing kit 2. Tokico Illumina's 3. Tokico Springs or GC Coilovers 4. Relocate lower control arms Would anyone happen to have a picture of a car with the Tokico/Tokico strut and shock combo installed so I could see the ride height? I was planning to also install the ZG Flares and I am not sure if the car will be low enough for my taste if I don't go coil-overs and section the struts. If I wind up going coil-over and section strut's, I believe from all my reading and searching that I am supposed to order MR2 struts? I have sectioned struts about 10 years ago by installing 240Z inserts, so I am pretty familiar with that end of it, but I did just use them with ST springs. There is a guy here locally that just put a set on his Z car. I will see if I can find out exactly what they are and maybe snap a pic or two... :classic:

Well, Here is an update on my car! I finally get it running last night. It wound up being the electronic ignition module or the wiring going to it. I had tried several things including but not limited to 1) checking fuel pressure 2) replacing the ignition coil 3) installing MSD 6AL 4) replaced the electrical portion of the keyswitch 5) checking all the wiring and such Wound up replacing the distributor with a rebuild one from Orielly's Auto Parts and seems to work great! Well, I replaced the ignition coil last night along with the ignition switch. The car still dies after idleing for a few minutes. The guy had installed an electric fuel pump on the car before I got the car.... I am thinking too much fuel pressure? I did a search earlier and it seems as if the SU's only want about 4 PSI of fuel pressure? I do have some good news though, I replaced my headlight switch and got them working fine and replaced the headlights with Silverstars!

Which one do you recommend that I purchase? Thanks for all of you'lls help..... you gotta love the forums.

It looks to me as if this is a Z car front end on a S13?

Hello, I am a new owner to a 3/74 260Z and I purchased the car on eBay from Tuscon and had it shipped to me, sight unseen. I recieved the car and on the way home it dies a couple of times. Checked for spark and no spark. :disappoin It seemed as if the coil was getting hot - replaced coil. Continues to run for a few minutes and then continues to die........ same symtoms as before. The car will restart after a few minutes of sitting. Then you can drive it a couple of more miles and it dies again. Check for spark and no spark. I located the ignition module and it obvious it's been replaced (plug cut of and module hardwired into the harness. I am pretty much at a loss right now and would appreciate any help from you'll. Is there anyway to check the ignition module? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jon

Well, I am not trying to seem lazy, but It has been a little chilly the last couple of nights...... but the overall consesus about the car is that it's rather clean and unmolested.... So I doubt that the harness has been hacked up under the dash, but I do hope to get into it tonight. I am so glad I found this post. I am trying to do some searches so I don't get flamed for being a newbie on here...... I picked up my new (to me) 260Z and this is the problem I have.... my first project on my new car. Headlights do work, but No brake lights No running lights No interior lights No dash lights No turn signals No tach All the fuses are good. The car is actually pretty clean inside and out ........ Tucson car for it's life till I moved it to South Texas. Does anyone happen to have a turn signal / headlight switch for sale for a 03/74 260Z?
