I've searched on here, on hybridz and all over about the dreaded pertronix ignition tach bounce fix. I find lots of places talking about it but nothing on fixing it besides getting a different tach. I have the 3.0 ohm coil that came with the kit and I bypassed the resistor just like the installation instructions suggested. My 1973 240z now starts a thousand times better and faster and the throttle response is great and seemed to pick up some power. The problem for me is between 3000-5000 rpm the tach will drop to zero then bounce like crazy. I don't experience and problems with misfiring or the actual rev of the motor, just the tac. Has anyone found a solution to this common problem yet?

Just not much on 17x7.5's

I've been searching through slot of threads on info about using the Rota rb 17x7.5 4mm wheels. All I've found is were someone randomly mentions them, not much info. I have a stock 73 240z, no flares. I was wondering if theses would fit with no rubbing issues? And if so what size tires would a guy want to use? I don't want to have the tires sticking out or have a stretched tire look. Any info would be great. Thanks guys!

I've been searching and reading through here for hours and hour and can't find what I'm looking for. I'm wondering if 16x8.25" wheels will fit on my stock 73 240z? The rims have zero offset with 4.63" backspace. If they will work what size tire should I use, I don't want the stretched tire look and don't want it to rub. All I'm finding in the search is 16x8 not 16x8.25, and maybe that's not enough to worry about, but I'm also concerned if the backspacing will be ok. Any help I could get would be much appreciated! Guys I'm thinking about selling the Z and my LS1 motor and t56 six speed tranny so I can get a sport bike......... What should I do??????:stupid:

It official, I'm back, I took off about 6 months from the Z and this site, bought some cool guns and spent a SH*T load on scuba gear but now i'm back and focusing on the Z!! ITs good to be back fellas!!

I have a set of new floor rails sitting in my garage that I won't use if some one needs them!

my 240z had a/c when I got it. it was in kinda rough shape and i'm racing and it was just extra weight so I pulled it and trashed it. It looked like a half arse job who ever put it in too!!!

I just checked and there are some pics of the floor pans in my gallery, even before I removed the frame rails if you want to see what they looked like. The pics are before I welded in the little extra pieces. They look like they go all the way but thats just bc the F-CK NUT that welded them in left the spaces and filled it in with fiberglass. Yes fiberglass, he must have been sleeping that time I told him my LIFE was going to depend on my racing seat that would be sitting on the floor, so make it strong!!! GOD IT MAKES ME PISSED EVERYTIME I THINK ABOUT IT!!!

I bought both sides from MSA, and I too ran in to trouble with them not being wide enough. Trust me I have done alot of rust repair, more then even Mull (look at my gallery if you don't beleive), and if i could do it over I totally without a doubt would have gone to a resto place and had the guy just cut out sheet metal to fit exactly what I needed instead of having to weld more smaller pieces in!!! As far as the frame rails, they would have matched up well if I had not have got rid of them to put subframe connectors in!!!

maybe an LS-1 won't be enough in that class!!?? I definately need a turbo! no no wait TWINS!!!!

Nah I have everything I need to fit the rearend in just can't find a finned cover. Here is basically what it will look like. So if you have a finned cover laying around and want to sell it please let me know.

Speaking of R 200's does anyone have or know where I could get the finned Diff cover???

Pretty sweet man!! you should see how I flipped my car over. I didn't have a rotisserie so after it was gutted I had it sand blasted and we sat it on a bed matrice and tipped it on its side!! pretty funny pics you should look in my gallery!!!! But anyway, looking good!!

Correct me if i'm wrong Curtis, but I shouldn't have to worry about this due to me having an LS-1 in my car. I will already not be allowed to be in that class?? Will I?? Thanks ..... oh and do you have any idea what class I would be in if not that one??

Don't get that kit. I'm getting my from www.arizonazcar.com This set up is the best I am also getting the brake kit!!
