It comes from the saying "rice grinder" or "rice burner" hints the name ricer or ricey, you know the little honda civics, and all of the other little four cylinder cars out there that have sh*t loads of mods. put on them, usually intaling a larger than life spoiler, nonfunctional hood/roof scoops, stupid lights on everything, and lets not forget about the tail pipe big enought to house a small country in it!!!!!

that is great I do the same thing sometimes!! I rev the crap out of my car let it jerk forward and then when the light turns green they are squeelen off at 3 times the speed limit while I just putt off the line and watch for cherries and berries!!!

great stories!!! I race the damn ricers around here all the time! I've only been beat by one. He has an eclipse with twin turbos and NOS!! He was messing with me so good one day! I kept up with him for a bit till he got boost and then just to rub it in he hit the bottle and it spit blue flames out the pipe!! not going to lie it hauled a$$!!!

I'm anal about my cars also!! Anytime I have to go get a tire fix, exhaust done, anything if they dont let me stand there and watch there every move I take it someplace else!!! I had the same prob. getting exhaust put on my 1967 firebird, nobody wanted me around when they were doing the work. I understand it might make them nervous but this is my baby and noone is going to mess with it or take it out on a "test drive" when they are done!! My friend had is 2000 ss camaro, and my cousin had his 2001 trans am WS6 both at the same shop at the same time for minor repairs and I cought the shop guys on the out skirts of town with both cars racing them!!! Needless to say everything was repaired for free!! and cousin chewed arse for a week!!!! So be carefull!!!

I've had the same questions you have! My car is going to be strickly kick arse blow your doors off performance!!! I could careless about smooth ride I just want performance like you. If you ever find out what is the best please let me know!!

and how do those carbon fiber ones look?? I've been wanting to sell my chrome one and get a carbon fiber, or maybe somehow clean it up and not even have one.

I'm going for the othere side of the spectrum. Shaved and neat, all about performance! Like a Retro car with new tweaks!

I shaved my front and rear ones and gas lid and vents, looks great!

I basically am. plus the subframe connectors and rolecage, and stut bars, and v-angle stut bars in front!!! the list could go on for years!!

Well since my last update I bought another 72 240z, and sent it off to the body shop where it is now. I got all new panels, rockers, floors, front frame rails, you name it. I just got in this week my fuel cell, cali style mirrors, and urathene front air damn with ducts. I have my v8 sitting in the garage waiting patiently for the twin turbos that are going on it. But that will be some time. I plan on getting all of the body, susp., breaks, wheels, interior, etc. done before worrying about the engine. Its still fun to debate to myself if I should go 600hp or the whole 1100hp. oh did I mention subframe connectors and rolecage are going in too!!! I'll get picks up when I can.

I know this is not a web shop but if you leave near an advance auto parts store go there. The one where I live id great! most of the time it is 2 day delivery that is free!!! all you have to do is pick it up! and mine here beats the prices of everyone. I normally search for the cheapest place that has the part I want and then take in a printed version of it of the magazine and they beat it! and you can't beat that! They also have a website.

My car is in the body shop getting restored right now, but it will eventually be chevy pewter like on the newer camaros. I think it could look cool maybe with that paint. I would like to see them in person b/c your pic just looks weird. anyway thanks a ton for the pics and help!

Sorry to ask this but i searched and searched and didn't find anything and I can't just go out and measure it off my car since mine is in the body shop. Anyway I few questions I am seeing if I can fit a twin turbo sbc in my z with the stock hood and in between the wheel wells and I need to know the measurements of the engine bay area. The width of the set up is 35" Max and that is toward the front and it is at max 22.5" high from center of crankshaft line and 29" deep with the tallest pullies. In know it all depends on how i position my engine in it but, if anyone has any measurements of any kind this would help a ton!!!! I'm sure with a little tweaking and cutting it will fit!!!:classic: Thanks alot guys!

Hey I have the same rims on my car as the one you have on the back drivers side! They are pretty cool!!!!!! I was thinking about getting new ones that are a bit bigger but hey your the first person i've seen with them also!! looking good!!! YOu need to punch it a bit more on the turn you could get some great slidage!!

If you guys need su's or webers I have both!!! I have dual webbers on my parts car, it does run and well at that!!! and the engine I pulled out of the car i'm restoring, was said to be an L28 with the su's but i'm not sure if it is an L28 or a L24. Anyway I need to get rid of both engines and get them out of my friends garage so if you guys want them or just the manifolds and carbs, shoot me a price!
