I took these out of my Z and am replacing them with BMW 320i sport seats (by Recaro) shown is the old seat and the back of the BMW seat.

Like others said, I think by the photo it sitting in 5" of leaves and weeds, the underside is SURELY shot. Anything is restorable if your pockets are deep enough, but this might make a good donor for a clean tub found elsewhere. Time for a road trip to Arizona? As for the "leather" condition, dude the photo shows rotted out seats!!! Sounds like a deal to me! I e-mailed the guy, offered $500 and could pick-up this weekend. I'd be a good parts car and I might pocket some $! He said he would contact "the owner" and get back to me.

Dave, permit me to go off topic a second and ask: Where do you put your left foot when not depressing the clutch? It looks like your would be resting your foot on either the clutch pedal or your speakers. The SCCA would make you remove that speaker to race or autocross. I had to ask.

Steve, Did you buy the gold 260 on CL? I noticed that it's ad has been removed. My old 260Z looked just like that one before I flared the fenders and painted it Porsche India Red. Man, I miss that car NOW!!!

I added MSA flairs and a big ole whale tail (regretted the tail addition). I asked the same question that Montezuma answered at HybridZ. I have a '73 and want to use the '73 bumpers in the earlier model position. I just need the pre-'73 brackets from what I understand and a small amount of mod. I plan to fill all holes and paint the bumper since I got a quote of $375+ to fill holes and rechrome my bumper. What do ya think... Artic White body, Gloss silver bumpers?

Thanks for the input everyone. Unless I can find pre-73 bumpers somewhere cheap, I'll go with my very good conditon 73 bumpers and refreshen the hardware and rubber.

Yes, but is the physical bumper the same? Could I use the earlier brackets on the bumper that I have now and move it closer to the body as on an earlier model 240Z? Leeboat

I've searched the forums and can't find the exact answer. I have a '73 240 with good bumpers but really like the way the earlier bumpers fit closer to the body. What are the differences in the bumpers from '70-'72 and '73? The rear bumpers look to be the same as far as I can tell (not having a '70-'72 to compare to). The fronts look different in at least the mounting hardware and over-riders. Any info would be appreciated. Leeboat (Smyrna, GA)

I have a 11/79 280Z fi car. Purchased to get running and resell. The starter, fi, guages were working fine yesterday as I tried to start her after installing new plugs, wires, cap and rotor. She cranked over and all seemed fine then NOTHING! I mean NOTHING! No seat buzzer, no guages, no hazards. Battery checks OK, probe confirms fuses. Should I look for a relay or fusable link? Lee
