  1. Another thing to check is the amp meter gauge on the dash. It will act the same as a fusible link. When you are cranking make sure it moves, if not it may be dead as well.
  2. Hey Guys, Took a look at a 72 240z near Bend Or yesterday. Lime colored with black interior. It would be a good project for some one just not me right now. The car has rust under the batt, both floor boards are rusty not see through yet. I didn't want to start banging away to much, but pretty sure they will need replaced. There is some rot in the pass dogleg and the front right fender bottom. Couple of spots under the rear hatch. The was more snow on the ground than I was willing to roll around in, so I can't speak to the frame rails. The owner has replaced the clutch, t/o bearing, and slave cylinder in an attempt to get it going. It fires and runs till the fuel filter runs out then dies. Filter refills slowly and will repeat. The car is pretty complete with the usual problems cracked dash ect. Not quite a car to part out I think. I don't have the space or inclination but had to go look. I have a few pics if anyone is interested. He offered it to me for $1150 and I think it is a pretty fair deal. You can checkout the bend craigslist for Dec 3 or 5th i believe, or contact me and I'll email the pics. The seller is deaf and communication is challenging but he seemed like a nice guy just trying to get by. Feel free to contact me I don't mind helping some, it is a tough time for everyone. Phil
  3. Hey I think I can come this year. I'll get over for at least 1 day. Hopefully the weather will be good for the roadster. Have to decide between the 67 1/5 or the 68. Look forward to seeing some people. Arne, I don't know about the back of the line however.....
  4. Nice find. I hope you enjoy your baby.
  5. Hey Arne, I spent the last 2 days flying, get back on here and look what you have done.. I hope your wife hasn't suffered from your lack of sleep and caffine buzz. Great job can't wait to see it. Phil
  6. Looks great Arne:p Have a good time putting here back together. See you at Canby! It should be no sweat for a guy like you.
  7. Thats what happened with my 73 z. It was the price of 3 Dyson vacumes honey. (after I got her/us one) How can you pass that up? Phil
  8. Art, Thanks for posting the answer to the mystery. It helps to file these things away in the brain. Phil

Hey all, Where can I pick up a electronic dizzy. I have been looking at ebay but not seeing anything. Would like to switch the 73 over and ditch the points. Local junkyard has nothing. Any ideas? Anyone have a spare that wants to sell? Thanks Phil
  11. Might be able get it with a easy-out. Maybe.. New cylinder would solve the problem don't forget 2 get both sides. Seriously taking it off and chucking it up in a vise will make it easier to work on. Use a flare nut wrench on the brake line.
  12. I enjoy seeing what can be done. I drove my car around yesterday and it stayed on fine. I always figure if it is broken try to fix it before before just buying new. When I got my 67 roadster the headlights didn't work. New switch was pretty much unobtanium. 1-2 hrs later I had the old switch cleaned up and it works pretty well. Phil

  14. Hey all, I just found a neat way to repair the steering wheel center/horn button. Mine would not stay on. When I flipped it over there were three cracks in the plastic. I figured some plastic model glue would fix it right up. After carefully applying the glue I was faced with having to hold it until the glue set up. Not being a real patient person I needed a clamp quick. My wife is in class today so I headed for the kitchen. I thought if I could find a bowl or something it would hold all sides equally. I found a 2 cup clear measuring cup with a spout. The sides are tapered nicely and the part fit perfect. Put it inside helped my son the 7 year old clean his room and it worked great. Re-installed and it holds on the wheel nicely. Just thought I'd share. Sure glad the wife was out:bandit: Phil
  15. Where in Minn are you.? We are usually thinking about firefighting in Minn this time of year. Heard there was 18-20" in Bemidji the other day. Spent a couple weeks last year up in the BWCA on that Ham Lake fire. Drove the Z today. Brought it down from the storage unit and switched the Front Diff mount. Turns out that is why the car was parked 8-9 years ago. The procedure took about a hour and the new part was already in the car just waiting. Both Roadsters are down due to carb switch. Swapping SU's and Mikuni's from one to the other. We were at about 65 deg here in the high desert today. Still 170" of snow at Mt. Bachelor. Phil
