Brother for my Z
I had a '69 510 2 door back in '75-77. I drove that thing from Albuquerque to Omaha in a horrible rainstorm once and it tried to die on me after a fillup in central Kansas. I nursed it to the next place I could stop; poured a couple of cans of Drygas into the tank. Got it started and drove another 200 miles home.:cheeky:

Fuel Pump Died
I don't know what the hell happened, but the fuel system checked out fine and it starts without problem now. :classic: Oh well , got a badly pulling right rear brake drum turned, so I can now hit my brakes without fear of swinging in to the lane to the right of me.

Fuel Pump Died
Went to the office for a couple of minutes this morning. Came out, got in, started normally. About a mile down the road, going up a grade, everything died, sputtering, nursed it along until I could safely get it over to the side. Fuel filter almost empty. No more fuel being pulled in. Looks like another short downtime. Oh. I didn't mention that this was in a driving rain storm. Great Saturday Morning.

If you're looking for a good beer here in the states, on the East coast is a great amber lager from Yuengling, very good Bottle, Can, or Draught.

That Tercel installation looks like the mirror set I got, but haven't installed from, I think, MSA. The whole install looks about the same.

It's Alive
After a long time coming; new ZTherapy SU's, rebuilding the steering rack, putting new Sumitomos on, I have completed my first fairly extensive trip in my resurrected 70. Trip was to the other side of the state, about 120 road miles. Engine ran flawlessly all the way out and back. Ran mostly interstates on the way out. No problem holding at 80 to 85, other than the sweat factor, scanning the dials, seeing no problem, wondering why, finally relaxing and letting it run. On the way back, shunpiked most of the way running on nicely curving roads across southern Pennsylvania, dropping back down into Maryland to run across horse country to home. Great feeling really running in the Z again.

GW Bush Explains His Postion on Iraq
I'm not sure what this has to do with our mutual fascination/love for the early Z's, but one thing has struck me. That's the seemingly ill knowledge of who or what has aided the United Staes in this or other coalitions. I was very appreciative of the many friendships I had with the ANZACs during VietNam, but the Brits were there for the Gulf war. It's terratorial or 'sphere of influence'. I'm not going to get into a discussion of whether we have the right to eliminate Sadam. He's an evil SOB who needs elimination. 'Nuf said.

How old are you?
ZwolleY, I defer to you. I am also in my 60's and have no intention of giving up my Z or the fascinating life I'm now leading. You have alittle more than two years on me, and I'm not anticipating gaining on you for the time being. Good on ya.

Z keys
Right, Carl. Both of my keys; ignition and doors are cut on only one side. The door key is an original with the code on it and looks like the image, except it is a rounded rectangle, with the 2 cutouts forming an N for Nissan or a Z if you want to believe that. I believe the same style keys were on my 2000 roadster and my 510 oh so long ago.

Z keys
My spare set for my 70 240 are Taylor Blanks with a circle XI. On the opposite side are the words "fits Mazda" This is for the ignition lock, single side cut. I'll check my original set when I get home this evening. This blank serves fine as a spare or everyday use key.

Restoration 1970 240 Z
Seems a few of us became z-natics while in the Air Force. I owned three roadsters and 2 240Z's while in and am on my first {third} 240Z since I retired. Hope to have it fully roadworthy soon.

Very positive review. Length of the header probably will make it necessary to cut and paste into your browser's address bar. http://www.autoweek.com/cat_content.mv?port_code=autoweek&cat_code=coverstory&loc_code=index&content_code=08714922
