Which parts to mix and match to make this work?
Thanks Nota280, Great link... I think I will put some forged pistons built for turbo use into the 280 block and boost it up. NelsonTurbo240

Need Help! Which cam dowel hole is stock on 240?
Thanks Guys, I Looked at stains on old cam to get it back together correctly before I read your replys. And Yes, I did wedge the chain or I would be out there still. :-) Nelson

Need Help! Which cam dowel hole is stock on 240?
I am changing my cam and did not mark which of the 3 holes in the cam gear the cam dowel belongs in. I have an idea which one just by looking but would like to be sure. The old cam got a lobe ground down by lack of oil due to the external oiler's gasket failing which cut oil presure to the lobes. Just got the car Saturday and went to adjust the valves and found this out. Thanks in advance, Nelson

Which parts to mix and match to make this work?
OK Guys I'm new to this forum. I tried searching and have not found what I'm looking for. I have a 1977 280Z 2+2 with a L28 EFI engine, Auto Trans car for Parts. I just got a 1973 240Z with the stock 240 engine and round top carbs. I wish to put this whole turbo setup into this car once I get all of it onto the L28. Parts I have to work with: I have a P-90 head. Turbo. wiring. turbo computer. Turbo intake and exhaust manifolds. I will know tomorrow what car these parts came off of but guess its a 280ZX Turbo. I want to take the L28 out of the 77 280 and put all the turbo gear on it. What will I need to do to this block to make it work other than add the P-90 to it? Thick head gasket? Lower compression forged pistons? I also read something about boost Ign timing retard issues when putting a turbo onto a N/A engine. I'm good with turbo system but have not worked with a Z car yet. Had a 91 Talon Tsi AWD & a 1997 Shelby Turbo GLHS that I got some great power out of and think the Z will be an even better platform once I learn how to get it all together. I look forward to sharing what I know about turbos and control systems with you guys when I run across a tread. I also will have some left over parts after this swap if you guys are in need. Thanks in advance, Nelson
