Which Ignition System do you use?
I had gone with the mallory dual point & MSD Blaster coil with noise filter. It worked ( good ) But I would say if I was too do the 6 over I would go with A electronic ignition set-up. Points are such A pain. :tapemouth

I would start by looking where the slave cylinder that bolts on the trans. Sounds like it may have some how mounted wrong. Or stuck open. Early slave cyl. wher also adjustable( pushrod maybe too long). Thats the easy list of what I would look @ before... well look there first. :tapemouth

Whats under your hood?
Whats under your hood? There has been alot of talk about the best combo. But wonder how many Z's we have here that are pure ( the way they came from the dealer) VS. Done up with Nissan combos or V-8 power? There are so many combos out there so I just put some gen. mods on the poll. If you wish please list your mods.

Fuel tank
Yes they can be (cleaned). I have never done this. There are shops that can clean then seal the inside of your tank. I know there are do it yourself kits out there for sealing. But without the tank getting cleaned first I cant see it working well. I am sure there are others here that have done this and will tell you more. How this gets past the filter. The fuel filter can only filter out so much. Small parts of "tank sh!! " pass then bulid up over time. Then things get pluged up. You can buy better "finer" inline filters that will slow it down. But fixed & slowed down are not the same. P.S. I would run new fuel lines at the same time.

Radiator
You will feel A diff. when pull the fan from the waterpump. The one thing you could do is buy 2 elec. fans. Use one as you where going too. Then put the other one on the front side as A pusher. You will be shocked at how much cooler your Z will run. Just make sure you cross over the + and - wires on the outside fan so the fan runs as A pusher.

Paint Rims?
There is one thing that should be done before anything. Take the tire off the wheel. You will want to paint over the bead lip into the inside of the wheel. If you dont. Your wheels will look good for A few weeks( if your lucky) Then they will start getting chips around that lip. Think of your paint as A cover. If that cover is just put on outside there will be A line where dirt and water can work under it. Now if that cover is under the tire bead it has A true seal. Atleast till you rub A curb.

tire pressure gauge
I was in sam's club today and found this gauge on blow out. The gauge is not some cheap plastic thing. Its metal with A heavy rubber coating. Easy to read and holds the psi# for 10 sec. comes ready to use loaded with batteries and reads psi from 00.5 - 199.5 psi. was over $50.00 now $4.91
