I know what your sayin all to well. prev. owner damage is why I needed to redo my 74 vette.
  2. I have found keeping the tires n wheels spining @ A high rate of speed (aprox. 75-90 mph) works good.

http://www.painlesswiring.com/ At this point in the game with my 73 240Z alot has changed. With the change in plans (88 corvette tpi 350 w/brain) I have been looking at doing A full rewire with newer style fuse block from painless. As anyone who has or had A early Z can tell you there elec. systems can be A nightmare. I am just looking to get away from elec. problems later. At this point I have my Z 's interior all out other then the dash now and am thinking this would be the time for this. Now I have done A painless kit before but that was on my 74 corvette and with that car the name of the kit (painless) fit. It took time but no big deal. If anyone else has taken this on with A 240Z maybe you could share some ins n outs on this. Thanks Jeff

As I have said I sold my corvette to take this 240Z on the way I feel it should be in order to be my dream Z. Well some ppl. just have bad luck. Like the guy I sold my vette to. He just called me to let me know he lost it lastnight and 100% wrecked it. sideways into A lightpole @ 70 mph. damn near cut it clean in half. He is ok got a few cuts nothing bad. Anyway the car was A 88 corvette ragtop with 34,000 real miles and I am buying whats left of it on Mon. Man is that corvette driveline gona look n act sweet in my Z.
  11. I have had side pipes on my vette and can say (show with scars) shrouds over side pipes just gives the burn neat lil stars n clovers look. cuz thats the shapes of the lil cut-outs in the 70s shrouds. I thank you all for the advice on everything but look for my next post. some big change of plans just hit.:tapemouth

keep in mind as you change tire size it will throw off your speedometer.

  14. Well, its easy enough for you ta see if it would be the connection @ the sending unit with just 3 wires there. You will find the wires run through the floor in the rear hatch near the pass. side tail light. There should be three wires you can see from under the car 2 will go to the tank and one ground hooked to the frame rail close by the hole the wires come through the floor. Now I dont know about A bad con. givin you A false reading I would think if it was A bad con. it just wouldnt read. But stranger things have happend.

hey, silv. cool boxer there. I have A white one but cant ger her ta sit still long enough for a pic with my Z. But working on it.
  16. MSA sells bolth front & rear for $99 ea. The front one also is A swing away by pulling one pin.

This car is in the MSA cat. with the red cover. At the time the photo for the cat was taken the headlights are not cut out yet and the wheels are diff. But thats it same flames n all.
  18. ok has anyone out there kept there 6 into 2 header at 2 rather then y ing it back into 1. I have been thinking about running my ex. with 2 1/4 pipes and glasspack style muff. one dumping out the pass. side and one out drivers side bolth just in front of the rear wheels. The pipes would be tucked under the the car but exit out where sidepipes would end. I have A new rear skirt being made without the tail pipe cutaway. So thats no big deal. Any other downfalls with doing this? :beard:

I have been spending alot of time at the carshows around here. In talking with other ppl (street rod ppl) they have nothing but respect and fun storys about the 240s they have had or run. This says alot about the car for these are hard ppl to get respect from with A import. I would also like to say if you are looking into doing up A early Z go to some shows and talk about it. You will find alot of these ppl know lots of proven tricks there happy to share with you.
