I will look and see if I can find a brand. I picked them up about 3 years ago off E-Bay for my RX-7. I mounted them in the RX-7 and sold the car without the seats about a week later. So from there they have been hanging on the wall in my shop. The mounting was EASY vs. any other car I have ever installed aftermarket seats in. The sliders on the seats are ment so you buy a mounting kit for what ever car your putting them in. Then you use the four mounting studs on the seat sliders to bolt them on the mounts for the car. It just worked out so that two of the four studs line up with the holes for the stock Z seat. Then the other two studs just needed a hole drilled about 1" away from the stock seat holes. From there the seats set in just fine.

Well, today was spent installing my new seats At first I didnt think that they would fit. But they do after all. I have the 5 point belts sitting in place for now. I am waiting untill next weekend when I twist up the roll bar for installing the belts correct.

Wow, I think I did it :stupid: Thank you!!!!
  6. Do the shelby mags have a marking or stamp that I can look for?
  7. I will get more info later today. The caps I need are the style that you use screws in tabs that go between the lug holes. I will get the distance between the tabs later. I do like the wire wheels aswell. But at this point they need a good rechrome.

Thats cool stump, I cant wait to see how your model turns out. As I would love a set of 8 spoke wanabes for my 240Z. But, untill then I have my old school bean mags. I am also putting some thought into sending off my true wire wheels off for a rechrome.
  9. I wish I knew..... They are the mags that I got with my 73. But still looking for some center caps.
  10. I would buy one. Do you have others that you could post?
  11. So I changed out the rusty wire wheels tonight for my mags. Here are some shots for you. Would anyone happen to have a set of four center caps that I could buy or trade for?
  12. Thank you, I thought it would say Nissan but wasnt 100% sure on that. I will see if I can get some photos of them up. For now I am just going too use the glass from my 73 in the back. Thank you on the info Bob. I dont understand how or why. The rear glass has bubbles near the edge in the corners. But the windshield is the one that stinks for me. It's 100% no chips or cracks. Yet it has a fog and bubbles in front of the driver just at the view point. So, is one windshield brand better then another in todays market?
  13. What do I look for on the glass that would tell me that it's stock glass?
  14. Then I guess my rear 1/4 glass has been replaced. Because I have the fog and bubbles in the windshiled, rear 1/4 glass, and rear hatch. Pass and drivers door windows are fine. But it's all inside the glass. I am just going off what I have on my 72.

OK, Doug I have been tryin for you buddy. But I cant get it done :stupid: I have gone into advanced and did the insert image. But I dont understand it from there. It's asking for a http link rather then from my computer or my pics. I did load a few photos in my member pics. They said aproved two days ago and had shown up on the site. Now I just went for that link and they now say pending aprov. I respect what your sayin and want you ta see. But I just cant get it!!!!! PM me your email and I would be more then happy to send you some pics. It's not your fault I am puter dumb sorry.
  16. Are you sure it's on the outside of the glass? I have three windows on my 240 that are going bad inside. They have a white haze or fog with it aswell. What is happening is safty glass is 2 sheets of glass with a clear rubber between the two parts. Over time with sun and heat that rubber can go bad. When that happens you can get a milky look and little bubbles over time. If thats the case your only fix is new glass. If you can feel it on the glass then it can be removed. If thats the case you can get it off with a very very fine steelwool and glass cleaner. Just MAKE SURE the glass is wet!!! I have owned detail shops in the past and no that will not scar the glass. We steel wool every window that we are putting tint on aswell and have NEVER left a scar or scratch behinde.
  17. , yes that part of the shop is a huge mess at this point. But, it's not my mess LMAO. I will take a few photo's today and put up alittle tour of our place. We have a speed\hobbie shop here called Extreme Machines. We are a group of close friends that have taken over an older GM dealership here on main st (RT 66). At this point we have 12 members and have been going strong since 2001. So needless ta say with that much going and that many people working on things at all hours of the night and day. Things can and do get dirty rather fast. We try for one day a week in cleaning the place up. But some are better then others on that.....
  18. Just a thought here. Do the pads have any numbers on them? You could cross those numbers over at the parts store and know what you have. Or maybe a part number on the calipers?

I feel you on the new cars!!!! Just for the fun of it I kept track of the time on the motor swap. It was just over 45minn for pulling the old one and about 2 hours on the install. Alot of todays cars would take that much time just in installing new spark plugs.

Thank you, I must say I also like the flat black on her. Now for how it's running...... I know this motor runs like a madman. But at this point I am waiting on a few small parts before I can fire it off. I found that the cooling line that runs on the sparkplug side of the block has a bad leak. It's where the hard lines join just before it bends around the back of the motor. The rubber reducer that joins the hard lines is bad. So now I am waiting on that. I am also waiting on the new clutch master and slave kits. I should have all the parts in my hands by Monday. The PO of my 73 had the motor worked over and only drove it about 100 miles before I bought it. Then I did about another 200 miles before pulling it out of the car around 2002. He did give me all the paperwork on the parts and work done on the motor near 2k worth. But I lost it :stupid: We had a real bad flood in 2007 and my house had near 5 foot of water inside. The paperwork didnt stand a chance. I am just thankful that my Z and parts where not at that house when the water came up. Anyway, I know shes a runner and REAL strong
  21. out with the old in with the new Tomorrow I will be doing some wet sanding and working on the mounting of the sliders for the aftermarket seats. Still unsure if they will fit or not. But I am going to give them a try. I am looking to run the aftermarket seats in the car for now. Then have the stock seats redone and waiting for when I do the real paint. More updates and photos tomorrow.
  22. I have all three parts rust and dent free. The two sides are in in primer and ready for paint with the center in brown. We dont live that far apart so shipping wont be that bad. So you are thinking about a trade for that airdam on your car in the photo?

Dose anyone know if the seat rails or sliders are the same for the 240Z from 72-73 ? I have a 72 and looking to try an aftermarket set of seats in it. Now I also have a 73 and would like to use the sliders from those seats for my aftermarket seats. Only I dont wana do all that work if the mounts are not the same from 72 - 73. Thank you.
