Great...now I have to go buy another one... Congratulations on the purchase. Nice to have another making its way up to the great white north. I can see you driving down to George street in it now... (BTW, the '71 goes for its QC inspection tomorrow a.m., wish me luck).

You are welcome, but we are typically more focussed on originality and light mods. Hybridz.org will be a better spot to enquire on the specifics of your mod... Not an a very aggressive flame environment here...

Turn signal / dash light issues...
I'm not sure they're related but... On the '71 240Z... 1. Turn signals are almost imperceptible when the headlights are on. They are fine when the headlights are off. I assume this is an alternator issue (this was all witnessed at idle), but would like to verify... 2. Dash lights are fine when I start up the car. Once it's warm, it I turn the car off (say to gas up) and restart...no dash lights... As an aside, battery was not at full charge. Not sure if this would contribute (possibly to the turn signals, not sure how that could affect dash lights).

Problem with SU's
try moving to a higher octane fuel as see if that clears it up.

Brakes pull...
I searched...but not sure I found my solution... Brakes were pulling pretty hard to the left on the '71. Took the right caliper off and sure enough, one of the pistons was seized. Replaced with rebuilts and bled the system (RR, RL, FR, FL). Took the car out for a test drive. Pedal feel is nice and strong, but the stills pulls to the left. Not quite as strong mind you...before it felt as if the steering wheel was being pulled out of my hands. Now feels more like a wash out and the nose goes left... Rear proportioning valve? If so, how do I adjust. If not, anything else it could be? Thanks,

this is beyond me.
And put that rust through the engine block? Never never... Filters are very cheap and an easy install...

Just got a 280Z
Hey Spectre, Welcome to the club. Beware of the addictiveness of Z's (way worse than Porsches...). Search and scrounge the forums here. Almost anything you might need to know can be found. If you can't find it, ask and you will be amazed at the speed, accuracy and thorough nature of the responses. Truly a neat place...

They are around. Reasonably common. Just keep your ear to the ground.

Be safe out there...
I often wondered why you'd want to dodge those...just didn't make sense... And I agree with the Darwin comment...just glad they didn't take anyone with them...
