240Z Speedometer not Accurate.
Do a search for speedo gears. I believe they are colour coded to the diff you have. Wrong one will set you way off.

Stay away from...
Oh...and the TANSTAAFL coup de grace too... Bite down hard Justin, I think E is right. Even if the person on the phone induced you in error, there is a certain amount of caveat emptor involved in the due diligence on the purchase. Troll the sites, you should be able to find something on line for a replacement, particularly on the west coast.

Gauges and Fusebox mystery
Get the Factory Service Manual at carfiche.com Student discount pricing available (it's free). http://carfiche.com/manuals022/cars/ If the manual beside you car says TNA, don't get excited...it's temporarily not available. They cycle them on the hour as they don't have the download capacity to host all at once. Here is the fuse map from the '77 FSM (I assume it's the same). Good luck with the electrical challenges... Cheers,

Computer Rookie having fun with cars
O.K. It's 85 degrees out. Sunny day. Country road with rolling hills and sweeping curves. Not a car or a cop in sight. What are you driving? Nice site. Inspiring actually.

I've been in an accident!
Holy C R A P... Darbji, so happy you are ok. Glad it wasn't the Z, but even if it had been, things can be replaced...you can't... Heed Ronnie's advice. Take it easy for a couple of days because the aches and pains will emerge over the next few days. Sit back, relax and have that boyfriend treat you like the queen you are... Take care darlin' and keep us up to date.

Series I Steering Wheel Going for Record Price!
I'm very wary of shill bidders on Ebay (I believe I was a victim actually). Wouldn't it make sense that the same people would be interested in 2 identical items though? The same winning bidder is odd, but why would a shill actually win? (kind of defeats the purpose...) Maybe a die-hard restorer who bought both to pick the best and resell? Wierd, but doesn't seem fraudulent to me.

Series I Steering Wheel Going for Record Price!
The description is very well composed. Certainly leads one to believe you could restore to perfect with minimal effort. Good for him.

It is possible to make this swap
Happy New Year Juan! You might want to get at www.hybridz.org They have these topics well covered. As I recall it is a difficult fit (that's why we don't see many of them) but there are some guys doing it. Try this forum: http://forums.hybridz.org/search.php?searchid=1542011 But be careful...some of those guys over there are nuts...

Where are the girls??.
This is where the discussion shifted to Dade, if he actually meant Full House, we've been discussing nothing for the last few posts...:stupid:

Where are the girls??.
Jim, Note that I came out hard (and early) against the comments by full house. Simply not acceptable and there is no place for them on this board. My comment above relates specifically to Dade's post which I simply read differently. If he intended other than in jest, I agree with you completely. I think Rick is expressing the same point of view that we need to ensure we evaluate posts to try to understand what people were trying to communicate. I often post comments in jest which I hope aren't misconstrued but I'm rarely trying to be sexist, homophobic, racist, etc. (Sometimes I might express the odd anti-american sentiment, but hey, I'm a proud Canuck ).

Where are the girls??.
Interesting. I took Dade's comment as a tongue-in-cheek joke. One of the problems with text based communication.

Thinking Of A Restoration Project???
Just to avoid confusion, I'm pretty sure she's a series II 240Z (I assume that by 1st generation you mean a 240Z...).
