I'm looking for a 'new' Z (year?)
Yeeehaaaa!!!! Post photos ASAP!!!! As for the questions (note that I'm not an expert, but learning): 1. No. Find rust. Eliminate rust. Rebuild if necessary. Don't drive in conditions that will lead to rust (I should have taken picture of my car when it was delivered by the transport company after a record snowstorm in Montreal). 2. Yes. I've only heard good things. That being said, not the most pressing priority. 3. No. Upgrade to 280Z alternator and upgrade your fuse box to accomodate. If you are going to run the bells and whistles, this is a priority. 4. Sure. Looks cool and is functional. 5. Maybe. HP gains are limited, so it is based on personal preference on tonality. From an appearance perspective, I sure like the ANSA mufflers that WingZr0 is selling...(maybe he'll give me a discount for the props...) 6. Yes. See # 3. Cheers,

I'm looking for a 'new' Z (year?)
You said "fully restored". See if you can get photos of the restoration process. That should answer most of the questions. If you have any concerns based on those photos, post them here. You'll get plenty of help. BTW, nice looking car. A couple of things: There seems to be some crimping or irregularity along the wheel wells, I'd check into that. No cover on the air cleaner (do they have it?). The Fairlady badging is a little odd on a LHD IMO. Cheers,

Post photos when you get them.

spare tire ?
Yeah, but assuming these aren't all trailer queens, would you really want 35+ year old rubber as a spare... Or is this just for show judging...

Aftermarket Stereo
Zs-ondabrain makes a harness upgrade kit that you should use. I haven't used it myself (but will), but reviews are great. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=20016

Who still has their '72 PLAYBOY mags?
Glad that I'm a hockey player...actually bumped in to her once after a game in the family & friends area at Joe Louis Arena in Detroit (while she was dating Federov). She was with a friend who was, brace yourself, much hotter...

Today is Last Day
Actually that wasn't the one... The actual story: "New York Yankees outfielder Dave Winfield was arrested on August 4, 1983 for killing a seagull with a baseball. Winfield had just finished his warmups in the 5th inning and threw a ball to the ballboy. The seagull was hit in the head and died. Some claimed that Winfield hit the bird on purpose, which prompted Yankees manager Billy Martin to quip, "They wouldn't say that if they'd seen the throws he'd been making all year. It's the first time he's hit the cutoff man." The charges were later dropped." A memorial is held every August 4th...Dave Winfield, that bastard...

I'm looking for a 'new' Z (year?)
Not sure on waiting... This is the time when a lot of people are looking at putting the vehicle away for the winter and prices are depressed. In the spring, demand for summer vehicles increases and prices on vehicles in decent working order will slide upwards. 1. Set your search criteria: - year(s)/model(s) - general condition/amount of work you are willing/able to do - willingness to ship 2. Set your budget 3. Just keep trolling the sites. There are some great deals to be had if you know specifically what you want (witness the link on California Z's). Cheers and good luck.
