New Vendor to me
My experience was really good until the last year as I described above. Was able to get a genuine Datsun rebuilt starter for myself and passed the source on to motorman7 for the restoration he was doing on Bob Russell's 73 240z. That said, I am not optimistic about the situation getting better. I know good friends of Riley that told me they have tried to get in touch with him with no success. They are at a complete loss as to what has happened.

1970 HLS30-06521 Re-Restoration
Excellent! You've confirmed what I had hoped. I recently had the "grapefruit" alternator for my 7/70 240z rebuilt by a fellow that restores roadsters. We sourced the diode packs and new bearings, etc. and then we went back and forth about the color of the band. I had him do it in the "reddish brown" you describe.

New Vendor to me
Yes. Riley at Lynchburg Nissan is/was a great source when you can get a reply. Some time back things started going south in communications with him/them. No idea what is going on, but haven't been able to place an order and get any response for quite some time (over a year) now. What a shame---good prices and many items that could not be found anywhere else. Hope it changes for the better.

How do I straighten a bent antenna mast
Deceased 🧐 ☠️ RIP 😭 Sorry for your loss. Unscrew the bullet finial tip and save IT. It can be transplanted to some later model Hitachi antenna masts that have the same thread size.

Parts Wanted: Trim Clips
The original clips are near spring steel. When they are plucked with your fingers when mounted on the car they have a high pitch (plink) if they are sound. If they make a duller sound (plunk) they most likely are cracked and won't adequately grip the finisher panel to keep it in place.

Love seeing the note from Lilly. Real personal touch. But-----I don't see a commemorative points file among any of that swag-------

Rare and super rare Z - parts pricing! JUST ASK your question here!
Hi Mart! Please take a photo of the top cap on one of the NOS (Nissan boxed) fuel pumps. Are there any markings on the pumps which would identify the supplier of the pumps to Nissan? (i.e.: Nikki, Ampco, or Kyosan Denki)

Question on front bumper rubber/moulding
Yes. If you don't take Mart ( @dutchzcarguy ) up on his offer I probably will. 🍀 NOS examples of the rubber filler are very difficult to find. Relatively good condition used filler pieces can be restored, but even those are not plentiful.

Compare Michelangelo's David with 3D printing. He's been wrestling with Eiji. SOOOOOO happy that Nissan reached out to you Jim! They for sure found the right car and guy in those photos!

Back to Original
+1 on the black wires and Denso as the replacement! Colored wiring in the 240z is a no-no for me too----but I'm a bit stodgy that way. I use the original Sumitomo, but they are much more difficult to find. Glad to hear the Z is running well---it sure looks great! Got a name for your new addition to the family yet??? 🙂

New Z Owner
I've heard that many times in my life. Nowadays though everyone wants to know if I'm related to Stormy Daniels. I tell them she's my ex.

Captive nuts near the dome light
This has been discussed by @kats and others previously---I don't recall there being a definite conclusion reached. But you are right---it would probably work for a camera mount.

For sale 240z Dutch original.. can you spot whats wrong?
A Tabco replacement arch is only ~$125.00 here in the States----even with labor a pretty cheap fix. Should have been done properly the first time for sure.

I looked at the photos in the link---nothing showing the under carriage or engine bay. Buyer beware!

Duh---thanks--I guess. Third times charm? Shame, shame---looks to be pretty nice otherwise for a screw up like that to appear. Makes you wonder about the rest of it. I had no idea that rear side markers weren't a Dutch requirement---learned something new! Thanks for the teaser Mart!!

I just saw the lack of a rear side marker light! Ha--funny how our eyes are so blind to our brains. It's early here in the U.S. One cup of Java isn't enough yet.

o.k. Mart-----how about--- the driver side rear view mirror As a side note---that is some pretty unusual topiary in the second shot. I've never seen anything trimmed to that shape before!

Z's on BAT and other places collection
Zedhead, I'm thinking a lot of that shine is from a ceramic coating. A lot more shine than stock but it is "modified" and it is a lot easier to keep clean.
