  3. so was i, but i didn't want to sound too critical. did you say what the body kit was? i don't normaly like them on an a Z, but this one i different. the colour help's too. did i say nice work yet?
  4. i think the car looks great. if i were to make one minor change though, it would be to black out the chrome around the signals on the side. like i said, minor, but continuing a theme. nice work.
  5. all that's missing are headlight covers.

thanks for the responses. i will order the kit and video tomorrow. the $600 can go towards the struts and springs. $90, and a 1 hour drive would seem like good value.

I picked these up in Sumas, Wa this morning. Thought it was time to change out the flat top Hitachi's. Now, will an amateur who has the ZTherapy video and rebuild kit be able to break his carb virginity, or is it best to send it to the professionals for refurbishing? (along with $600 US) BTW, what would a set of these be worth? Roughly.
  8. oh the humanity! it's awful. just plain awful.

The Super Bowl may be just that this year. Hawks by 17.

sorry i wasn't more clear earlier. i was referring to the exterior of the car. i have the same coloured 260 and noticed your body coloured mouldings in the avatar. i was thinking of just removing mine when it comes time to paint, but there may be an alternative. i saw the gallery pics, very nice shape. a plain chrome strip is fine, but the white rubber insert just doesn't do it for me. it takes away some visual appeal in my view. so do door dings, but i'm willing to park in the furthest corner of the parking lot of wherever it is that i am going to and risk it.

Oh thanks alot Spieg16, add one more item to my "list" of parts required. Look's great in there. BTW, did you paint the mouldings body color, or are they not originals? my 260's are white rubber and i was thinking or removing them, however.....
  12. jmortensen we had a cold snap in early to mid december. clear skies and -5 C for 3 weeks. that is cold for vancouver. since the sun went out, it's been all rain and 5-10 C which is par for the course. before the clear skies in december we had a week of fog and penetrating cold. i don't recall last year being all that cold, other that 1 light snow fall and a week of so of freezing temperature's. however, -5 C in vancouver is like -10 to -15 in eastern canada due to the amount of moisture in the air.
  13. winning their first playoff game in 22 years is something to write about. personally i am a 49ers fan, so there hasen't been much to cheer about the last 2 or 3 years. based on my geographic proximity to seattle, and the number of oregonians on this board, i thought i'd give them a bit of a hell yeah! these fans deserve it. if no alexander for next weekend i think it ends though.
  14. it's rained in Vancouver for 28 days straight, quite heavily at times. however it was sunny for a few hours yesterday and i was able to take the Z and the ZX-9 for an hour each. good times, just not long enough for my liking. it's pouring again today. that's the pacific north west for you. How about those Seahawks?
  15. Well, did you make it?

a flat silver, yellow, or orange. however, a faded (patina'd sp?) 301 is damn nice. wonder what 99 M3 blue would look like on a Z http://cgi.ebay.ca/BMW-3-Series-DINAN-M3-Very-Special-DINAN-Supercharged-1-Owner-1999-BMW-M3_W0QQitemZ4604436832QQcategoryZ6131QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or the Infiniti silver on the new coupe (c'mon it's family) http://www.motortrend.com/autoshows/coverage/detroit/112_2006_detroit_auto_show_coverage/infiniti_coupe_concept.html by the way, the massaged coupe is a beauty
  17. chrome in wheel wells is for caprice classics and crown victoria's on the other hand the pinstripe on the hood bulge reminded me of a 70-71 Corvette LT-1. i think they accentuate what is there, similar to a low cut blouse. here's an example http://www.americanstreetmachines.com/xCars/PageId/11/Classic-Chevrolet-1971-Corvette-LT1-SOLD-TN-For-Sale/Id/46/1971-Corvette-LT1-SOLD-TN/ProdId/126/LId/0,46/1971-Corvette-LT1-SOLD-TN.html or here http://www.cars-on-line.com/19301.html
  18. I did buy 2 lights, so I plan on putting the other one in, it's just a pain in the arse. Being able to see at night, or in the rain is a nice by-product though.
  19. north westerners.............oh wait, that includes me

My 260 was built 07/74 Model RLS30T RLS30-041072 Original engine and 4-spd Delivery date Feb 28/75
  21. I replaced all of fuses, used contact cleaner, and squeezed the prongs together to regain full headlight power. The uneccessary new left light is now brighter than the original right one, what to do, what to do???
  22. I would be interested as well, but for a 260. I am heading out for some contact cleaner now as my left headlight is dim. Of course I replaced the headlight before researching it here. :stupid:
  23. I like everything, except for the rim's. The paint looks great with that interior.

instead of just complaining about nissans failure, someone shoot a sketch to the california design studio. 08 release sound about right? and i agree, they would sell like crazy.

My first vehicle was a 74 Chevy Custom Deluxe 20 3/4 ton pickup in new condition. My first car was a black 86 Toyota Celica GT-S Hatchback in near new condition. Then came the 1983 RX-7 GS, then the 87 Mustang 5.0 coupe, then the 89 5.0 coupe, then the 65 Mustang Fastback with a really well built 289. Then a 93 Mustang GT (notice a trend here?). After that came an 01 Honda Prelude SE, then an 00 Toyota 4Runner and sharing the garage with that truck is the new addition, the 74 260Z. whew.
