Hmmm... I can see some parts there I wouldn't mind. Can't believe the owner wouldn't part with it, does he think it will be self repairing one day?

Thanks a bunch Unkle and Carl. 1. Yes, Unkle it appears that I have one key for everything. And I contributed to confusion by referring to a fuel cap rather than flap. The flap has a lock, not the cap. 2. Carl, the description you gave of a reversible key got me to do some more thinking (that hurt) and experimenting. Sure enough, pulled the door apart and serviced the lock, used the key upside down and presto! I can lock my door. Thanks again, much appreciated.

Ah, now I know why I've never been able to lock my doors! I thought the locks were buggered but it seems I'm missing a key. FYI Unkle, I have a 71Z which has a lockable fuel cap.
  4. Yep, thanks for that. $1250-$1500 doesn't sound unreasonable, gives me something to work from.
  5. I've rung around a bit and I'm finding it hard to get a price on the job (not many takers to do the work). I need to factor in the whole lot to see whether to buy the 260. Anybody know from experience what it's worth?
  6. Hi all, I'm new here, have read threads on auto to manual conversions and I think I can list what I need for a conversion to manual in a 260Z. What I'd really appreciate knowing (before I buy the car) is roughly how much a conversion would be in Aussie $, not doing it myself, i.e. parts (if I can find them plus) fitting. Any ideas?? Thanks
