Wheel Stud Removal?
thanks I was also thinking of puting 2 nuts on it and tightening them together and then beating on the nuts as not to damage the stud further.

Wheel Stud Removal?
to replace some wheel studs that have bad threads Do you just bang them out with a Hammer or is there a better way?? I know that once I have them out you can just put the new ones in and tighten them with an impact gun, but I just did not want to mess up the part that are connected to it.

any r-180's with 3.9 gears
First I wanted to say that I found alot of this information very helpful. Next I wanted to know what the difference was between say an R-180 and an R-200 I know it is heavier but how much and what are the pros and cons of the two i.e. durability and what not. Also I am not familiar with the term Quaife could someone explain that or point out a website to check it out? Another question what all do you need to put an R-200 into a 1973 240Z? One last thing as far as 5-Speeds go is the gearing on them all the same or do different years have differnt gear ratio's in them?

What shocks and springs to get?
Ok I have a 1973 with stock suspension, and it so needs a complete upgrade. I am all over the road with bumps (exaggerating a little bit). So I want to put in new struts spring and Bushings. Is there anything else I should be doing? and what products would be good to get. I want to get some decent quality stuff but money is an object. So I know of Tokico and KYB but I would really like your guys input on what is good for a good price. I don’t really need adjustable unless it really makes a difference. So if you have any input post it up thanks alot. Paul

Wireing Problems Questions and seeing if anyone has parts? Kind of long but plz read!
Ok I have a 1973 240Z with an L28 in it I was driving down the road when it died and smoke came from the engine compartment. What I think happened is my altinator when bad and It then fried 2-3 wires the red and white one and a solid white one Both very big wires. So this is what I have done so far obviously I have a new altinator (is the voltage Reg in it??) and I have pulled the Dash out because It burn in places all the way to my Votage gage in the dash. So here is the ??? what should I do 1. take the whole wireing harness out and run those 2 wires new (would not cost to much but would be a bit or work.) 2. Get a whole Wireing harness and put it in.(this seems like an easier way but probably more expensive. but still complex to get all the connectors right. Parts____________________________ I would like to put a new harness In but I dont know where to get one and How much one would be so if anyone know where or has one plz respond Also I probably need a new Voltage Gage does anyone have one or know a good place to get one How much should I expect to pay. This is my first major repair on a Z for me so I dont know where to get parts and stuff like that. Plz respond with any Info to this post or you can email me directly pmoodey@hpbstore.com also If anyone like electrical work I got plenty of it haha (its better to laugh about it than get mad)

Vapor lock or Electrical
I have a 240z with a l28 motor it runs strong when it is cold and when it warms up it will cruise along the bam like you hit a wall will cut out. I thought it might be in the coil or distributer but am not sure. I also thought it could be vapor lock, but have never had any experiance with it. The car is new to me and came with this problem and for more history on it it has a new electric fuel pump and a Carter AFB carburator. Any input is appreiciated thanks Paul
