Thanks Bambikiller240 you have definetly clarified it and today I ordered the Brake booster and Master cylinder both remanufactured $100 for Brake booster and $41.00 for Master cylinder plus ups ground shipping from my local auto parts store it will take a week but for the price it is ok with me !!!!

Motorsports Auto @ $150 is the most expensive for the rebuilt Brake Booster and they want $75 core plus shipping while VB is a little cheaper @ $130 and they want a $25 core charge plus shipping. I can get a new Brake Booster for $112 shipped at my local parts dealer. Now this probably sounds like a no brainer but if I want to keep my car as stock as possible should I go with Motorsports or VB and is a 71 and 72 Brake Booster interchange able cause I do have a four year old booster that was put in new in my 72 !!! How hard is the job of replacing the Brake Booster yourself on a wrench of 1-10 !!! I know this is kind of wordy so thanks for any help in advance !!!! I know Bambikiller will eat me up on this !!!!!

I Live in Florida and the winter is the best time to drive my Z's a lot cooler much less rain !!! Neither have working a/c but they both stay in the garage 24/7 and it was a tough decision which to put in the garage my 2003 Sebring or the 72 240Z daily driver I had at that time !!!!!!! Now that I have a really nice 71 240Z and the same daily driver the decision gets harder !!!!! Wish I had a bigger garage and less junk in it !!!!!!!!!!

I noticed when I put my car in the garage a few days ago when I hit the gas pedal the lights got brighter and when it idled down they got dimmer could that be my voltage regulator is going ??????????

Got the mirror installed today !!! Used the adhesive silicone to hold the metal piece inside the door panel but I put string down each hole and the tied it to the two holes in the metal piece and then pulled up the string and the metal piece was almost lined up and the wedged my fingers and alingned the metal piece and firmly pulled on string and let adhseive seal and then cut string. Put mirror on out side used swivel and 6 inch extension 12mm socket with with some white lithum grease to hold nut in socket and after many tries finally got the nut started and finally ratcheted the screw tight !!! I took me a while but able to do it myself !!!!!! I Appreciate the help and took a little of everyones ideas thanks and its good to have a stable mirror !!

JLPurcell Thanks for the offer but from what a read a 73 Brake Booster will fit only 73 to 75 Zcars !!!!!

Believe or not my Brake booster is bad too !!!! Is there anywhere I can get a rebuild kit and what the difference from the rebuilt VB Boosters and the Motorsport brake boosters besides price and one being rebuilt !!! Does VB actually use the cores we send in !!! I would like keep the car original ???? I SEE THE SUBJECT OF BRAKE BOOSTERS HAVE BEEN COVERED WELL IN THE PAST !!!! JUST WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE IS A REBUILD KIT SO I CAN USE MY OLD ONE !!!!!!!!

Sounds like fun !!!! Yeah when I started this project I gave myself two hours to do it before it got dark !!! Just a simple mirror installation right !!!! I know the first day I must have dropped the nut and the plate a hundred times before quitting and my wife the third hand gave up after 20 minutes !!!

I have tried it both ways and with the window down I seem to get better access !!!! Do you know something I am missing ??????

I will give it a try Thursday !!! Small fingers would help and the magnet is a idea and the silicone too !!!! I will try them all !!!

I am trying to instal a new stock drivers side mirror on my 71 240Z. Got old mirror out and used the six inch extension with the swivel and a 12mm socket. now the installation has been a little rought for me. I heard a clunk and the old metal piece that goes inside the door feel out but the mirror came with a new one but to get the metal piece and the nut inside the door panel has been a problem and tricks or any easy way to do this ?????? Just basicly need help reinstalling the new stock mirror !!!!!!

Next year there will be one more 240Z even if I have to tow it there and am looking foward to meet the rest of the club members !!!!!! That weekend is saved on my calender !!! 350Z is not my thing either !!! I could buy three nice Z's for the price of one 350Z !!!!

Electric fans are another idea !!!! I have them on my 72 240Z but they are not hooked up maybe a swithch from the 72 to the 71

Thanks but I will not be making Z-Fest this year just been to busy and a little late to register and get things together. I will definitly be there next year and will be looking to meet all you people from the west coast you seem like a terriffic bunch !!!! Seems like a lot more older make Z fans there lot of newer z cars here 350's 300's and 280ZX fans here !!!!! It is good to see all the old school Z owner are around !!!! Can you hold the fan shroud until next year :knockedou ?
