So You are saying there are two bolt holes per side? Plus it seems that these sides are curved not L shaped .:stupid:
  4. Alex 240Z replied to Alex 240Z's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Maybe this picture will show the two holes I am talking about on each side of the front bumper over-rider. Promise this will be the last time I will bring up this topic !!!!! Thanks for the help in advance !!!!!

Hate to be a pain in the butt !!! I just need some closure. The front bumper over -rider measures approx 30 inches c to c but there are two mounting holes on each side of the over-rider. Has any one seen that type I am sure now that it is for a 73 240Z and maybe early 74 260z

I just do not know how some one can bid so much on a car without physically inspecting it? For that price the car better be perfect !!!! I would like to drive it once and make sure everyting is there and works to perfection. Last year I saw a 1970 240Z original tires only thing the rear carpet showed a little faid and they were asking $15,000 and that was at a classic car dealership on consigment and that car was previously stored in a heated an a/c garage.

2Many and V8 I have come to the decision: My bumpers are in very good shape and I do like the way the car looks without them so why would I drill holes in perfectly good bumpers to put these things on!!!! To bad I had to buy them before I decided not to use them.. :stupid: :stupid:
  8. Alex 240Z replied to Alex 240Z's post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
Thanks V8-240Z Thanks exact and to the point : So I can use the rear over-rider but not the front:

Thanks for the quick response 2ManyZs Just one more thing the front bumper over-rider attaches to the bumper guards themselves. So both the front and rear bumpers need holes to be drilled in them. How do you feel about the look of the bumper over-rider and do they really protect the car? Thanks for the info in advance !!!

Are bumpers for 1972 and 1973 240Z exactly the same? The reason why I am asking would a bumper over-rider kit from a 73 240Z fit on a 72 240Z? That is a kit for front and rear bumpers.

I 'm down here in Florida and about a year and a half ago jumped on the first decent 240Z I saw !!!! You know when the Z-fever hits!!!! If look at either one I would be tempted and my wife would definitely leave me !!!!!! Point is take your time and you can definitely find a nice Z at a fair price!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd be a five !!!!! Fifty-three to be exact !!!! And I am glad to see there are some fives and even a few six's, us old guys need to stick together Alex 240Z
  17. In 1974 after I got out of the service I purchased a new 260Z Emerald Green exterior with light tan interior . It was one of the most gorgeous and it was one quickest and smooth running Z's I have ever owned but in 1975 traded for a 76 280Z Copper brown color with tan interior. That car could run, in fact while racing a Camaro Z28 on the interstate in Texas I snapped the speedometer cable and definitely beat the Chevy. I 've owned several other 280Z's and appreciated them and loved driving them as any 240Z I've owned and there has been quite a few but out of all the Z cars I wish I could have the 74 260Z emerald green back and still be driving it now!!!!!!!!!!!! To me that was the Z that got away!!! Alex 240Z
  18. Thanks for the information!!! Tommorrow I will try to attach some photo's !!!! In the future I will ask before I buy!!!! When you see a nice part they are just hard to resist!!!!! But the more I think about it, the more I like my car with out them!!!! Now I just want to be sure what year Z they will fit!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS !!!!! ALEX 240Z
  19. Nice Z Like the color!!! Even when its parked it looks like it is going fast !!!! Congradulations on the award!!!!! Nice job with the car!!!! Is the rear spoiler stock and the front air dam is which one from msa ??and last question are those stock rims !!!!! Some polish job !!!! And I know you " Enjoy The Ride"
  20. ARE 1970,1971,1972,1973, and early 260Z front and rear bumpers exactly the same? The reason why I am asking is because I purchased front and rear bumper over-rider bars off ebay and on first inspection they do not look like they will fit my 72 240Z !!!! And after looking at them I think I like the way my car looks without them!!!! They are in excellent condition but they just do not look like they will fit ,plus would I have to drill holes in my bumper to install them??? I that is true I just wasted about $60.00 bucks plus shipping !!!! :stupid: :stupid: :stupid : :stupid: :stupid: Thanks Alex 240Z
  21. Alex 240Z replied to derk's post in a topic in Old For Sale Ads
I agree !!! The stock Z is the best !!! That's the car I fell in love with in 1970 while I was in the service !!!! Another 20 years or so there won't be many stock Z's left between the salvage and the sooped up ones!!! Good thing there are clubs like this !!!! That's more than my 2 cents!!!!!
  22. One beautiful Z !!!! That car made my heart beat !! Felt like I was in Love again !!!! I saw a 70 240Z last year in that shape and they were asking $15,000 but that car had documented 37,000 miles. But to answer the question!! Reserve $10,000 big ones !!!!!!!
  23. Alex 240Z replied to carguyinok's post in a topic in Polls
My 1972 240Z is stock except I put in new 70-71 carbs that I got from motorsport auto, and I do mean new they had found about 50 pair of new 70-71 su carbs and when I ordered rebuilt a year ago they offered me the new carbs for $200 more. Other wise my Z engine is 100% stock.
  24. For the last few weeks I have been thinking of replacing mine with a K+N system too !!!! Did you get any prices on them yet !!!! If so let us know about what they go for !!!! I did put one in my 86 Nissan 4x4 and it did seem to give it a little more pep and that four cyclinder sure could use it . That one ran me 40 or so bucks at a discount auto parts center.
