  1. I haven't seen the orange car,but as far as it being an automatic,my car came off the line 36 cars ahead of this one.Does anyone know if they produced a run of automatics or just hit and miss

    I have a 72 240,new battery,alternator,voltage regulator.Car is overcharging, also when brake lights are on or I turn on blinkers,needle pegs the gauge.Any ideas?

    I've posted this question before but had to many other things going on to check anything.Some of the responses were that the height of the piston was a positive deck of .016" to .020".I haven't put a micrometer on it to get an accurate measurement but I used a feeler gauge(definitely not the greatest idea)and came up with a height of about .013".I put stock head gasket(new)on today to find out that valves are hitting pistons.Engine specs are stock crank,stock rods,87mm flat top pistons,stock head,.005" shave off deck height

    I been down Lombard street many times.I don't know if you were thinking you could go down it at speed cause you certainly can't.(too tight and only a block long,the famous part of it anyway)But in general it is a cool street to visit.

    check the filter above the float bowl on each carb,had the same problem with mine
  20. same for me as well,no difference in the length,although my auto drive shaft has a splined ring around it at rear of it so that you can I assume disengage the shaft from the differential,never seen anything like it before.

    I'm sorry guys,it is a 12-80 off a 81zx,just wandering if a hotter coil would help at all,or locate the problem first I guess.

    I did remove the stock 240 coil and used the stock coil from the 82 zx.Also the balast resistor was removed.

    after installing 82 zx distributor and coil on my 240,I developed a miss in the idle.Is there a chance that the module is not working properly?I thought that they're were either good or not.Any help would be great and any upgrades other than the obvious MSD.

  25. anyone know what the production month or casting numbers for early and late E88 heads.I have a 240 with production date of 5/72 with original engine on engine stand.I have a L26 engine with E88 head as well as 71 SU's.Any difference in the heads?Thanks for any and all help.
