It's all in how long you have been a member, not how many posts you have.

You should be able to get all of the bulbs at any decent parts store (Napa, Auto Z, etc...). Just have to take the old one out and take it with you as they may have to cross reference it to another bulb.

You will have to find out what the original color was, and if the sticker is gone or illegible, the paint codes can be found on www.zhome.com Look near the bottom of the left column under restoring/refreshing and the interior/extior paint colors are all listed there. There were only 8 original colors in the US so it shouldn't be hard to figure out which one it was....

Got 15 issues if you include the Z Car and Classic Datsun issues they had printed before they went under.... Think I have them all, but there may be one missing that I couldn't get as a back issue when I subscribed in 95.
  5. Its tolerable, but since we have this, now the question is do we need the random images? Or could the new block be reduced to 4 pics instead of 6 if it becomes too slow? I can live with it like this... makes me mad I didn't think of it first though....:stupid:
  6. Looks pretty cool... but what's with the "inline" shifter eh? Dash layout looks pretty neat, kind of an "improved" Z dash in a way....

Hmm, guess I'll have to hang onto mine a little longer.....:devious:

Yup, I missed seeing the auction until it was almost over.:disappoin Sorry, but since I don't remember seeing any bids on any of the magazines, watch the seller as he may re-list them. He had starting bids at 9.99 an issue, which since they are out of print isn't too high. I subscribed to the magazine and it was a bit pricey for four issues a year, I think it was about 20 bucks a year IIRC. He list a few Z's but that is the first time I had seen him anything other than a car...... Put his car on your watch list and check his other auctions starting tomorrow, he may re-list the magazines in a day or two.....
  9. Maybe Barney spun himself a cocoon and instead of turning into a butterfly he morphed into something as annoying as he was in his first life? :tapemouth Hope they are hermaphrodites so they don't annoy Falwell.......

If you want new door panels, Andy Russell has them for 250 a pair including new mounting clips and the rubber receptacles. Contact him at z@datsundude.com or 480-343-2962 I don't know about the colors he offers, so you'd be best to get in touch with him. I also saw a pair on Ebay yesterday under Datsun Z parts, you might want to check on them, as I can't remember if they were 240 or 280. But the way Ebay auctions go, the price might end up more than what you can get them from Andy...... If you want his price list, PM me with your home e-mail address and I can send you a copy.

Here's a good chance to get some of the old Z car magazines for those of you who may not have the complete set or if you just wish to have add to your collection of Z goodies. He's got nearly all the issues of Z car magazine from the premier issue, models (one is signed by John Morton in the box), interior vinyl kits (one white) and patches for the 25th anniversary of Nissan. http://cgi6.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=zcar&rd=1

Try this link for spacers. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php
  13. Geez, didn't even give me time to start the pool and you're looking at another one already?:cross-eye At least this one isn't yellow..... Or did you just want a different color in the first place so people would stop picking on you about it?? I agree with Carl, the price is way to low, so there has to be something wrong hidden somewhere....

Found this on the IT forums site. This is the best price I have seen yet on the Quaife LSD's. http://www.bildon.com/catalog/drivetrain/

http://www.sonic.net/~kyle/ztech.html This the one you looking for Victor? One thing I will add to Carl's list. If the kit didn't come with new bump stops, get them and replace them (if there are any left), they will more than likely fall apart in your hands if they are the originals and with shorter springs you will possibly need them. If you don't replace them and the suspension ever bottoms out, you will have a tough time getting the strut cartridge mounting nuts off the next time you need to replace the cartridges.

535 gets you the parts and you have to build the framework. 695 gets the whole thing already to go if I read it right. That is also bookmarked, that is something I'd like to have one of these days if I could find room enough to put it in the shop.:cross-eye

I remembered seeing a bench top english wheel on one of TNN's auto shows a while back and look what I found.... Not exactly cheap but....... http://www.metalcrafttools.com/
  21. 2ManyZs posted a post in a topic in Open Chit Chat
English wheels are a tool used to form curves in sheetmetal by rolling it between two rollers of varying diameters and curvatures. I doubt you are going to have an easy time of finding a used one. There aren't too many companies that even make new ones anymore. Last time I saw a new one advertised it was in the 1-2K range for the full set-up. Unless you could find a Nascar team that is selling off its shop full of tools that is.... most of them still have a fabricator using them to form the fenders and such....

I'd say you should have a talk with the shipping company and show them the damage. Looks like the dummy used an ordinary chain hook in the holes on the rails instead of the T hook that may or may not have prevented the damage. With a little work with a hammer, you should be able to repair it to the point it will be almost invisble. They ought to know better when chaining down a car that was built out of too thin metal and expecting it to hold up after all these years of rust and use....:stupid:

That must be why "Pee-Wee Jr." is flipping us off huh? :tapemouth
  24. Not cheap, that's for sure. But it would have to be cheaper than a new dash at 800+, if you can find one that is.....

The floor looks pretty darn good to me. You will find the same type of damage on probably at least 85% of the Z's that have ever been into a garage for an oil change or had an owner that liked to do it themselves. It's not critical unless there has been rust in the rail and the rail has collapsed, which this one obviously doesn't have that problem. As far as the title goes, he probably bought the car and never changed the title over into his name. He might have only bought the car to re-sell for a profit. I've got a buddy who bought a car from me, and 6 years later the title was still in my name when he scrapped it. Unless there is a lot of rust somewhere else, this car does look really good underneath unless you aren't showing the worst areas......
