im not sure if your original radio has it but look around on the radio itself it usually has a sticker labeling whats what( saying what wires go where). When i was wiring up a cd player in my 280z i just followed the diagram on the radio itself.

well i have a 76 280z aswell and i have 2 mysterious wires hang out of my ignition ( same as urs) i was screwin around with em and i actually found out they signaled the Beeping sounds wen u turn the car over which im not sure what it means when it beeps but anyways i also dont have that massive vaccum thing you should in the picture. Maybe this has something to do with my car being a cali car? but i do remember seeing a mount for something on the shock tower.

I think all Z's are nice. I love 240z's just as much as the next person but any Z to me is nice (Only Z i dont like is some ZX's). I thought i wouldnt ever buy a 280z but i did and it turned out to be a great buy. Its all preference. You dont buy a car because 1969-1973 were the best years u buy it because its what you like.

After recent family trouble and the steep prices of gas I have decided to keep my Z and put it on the road as a daily driver. My 280 will no longer be foresale however if u need parts or want to buy my 240z parts car plz dont hesitate to contact me. Sorry for any incovience. yah i know i wasnt to "familiar" with Z's a year ago. I didnt even belong to this site. I should have done much more researching befor ei just bought it, and it didnt run.All that rust was hidden well anyways. It sat perfect when i had it then i finally lifted it up and took off the fenders and got a good looki at it and realized how bad it was =( it wouldnt be a bad v8 rally car if i just modified the whole front end and stuff... The rear is solid it just needs work

im selling a 76 280z if ur at all interested with a 240z parts car u could restore if u had alota $$$$ but it would need a totally modified front end.

240 unibody is toast unless u totally modify it to be a v8 race Z its not usefulalthough the drivetrain and stuff is nice and most of the suspension is sold but its about 80-90% complete

I think i trust jack stands a little more than i should ,, Whenever i use them i give the car a vigorous shake like schevets said ESPECIALLY when im working alone. Another thing u can buy is those ramps u just drive up on. Those got me a little sketched out but i got used to em ( not to mention they are 50 years old) and bought another set so i could drive the front onto the ramps and then jack up the rear and put the other ramps under the tires. The ramps are usually easier to work with if ur just doing front end or rear end work, and i find em easier to use than jacks even if ur lifiting off both ends. If ur not sure about using them then buy heavier duty ones that have more support (i think they can hold like 9000lbs or sometihng like that) Anyways off my rant... If ur sketched out buy heavier duty ones,use caution, be smart, and always test the stands before u go sticking your head under there. You can put a price on parts but not ur life.

going to get a welder for the weekend so i will work on it for awhile and get it to the point where it just needs paint and some bondo ( not as filler just detail) for the buyer. I would really like to see this car go to a good home. Im accepting all offers. The 240z parts car will not be parted anymore than it is and its still 80-90% complete. Just keepin people updated who are interested.

its been brought up many times here, do a forum search, but if ur gunna do the swap id go with a 5 speed IMO ive had both 4 and 5 and im diggin the 5. Just search the topic and ull find just about everything u need to know! =)

thats actually not that bad... its bad when u can fit ur fist in the front tubeing part of the unibody.. Thats suppose to be one of the strongest parts of the car, and now its held together by air, if i tok it off the jack and let the weight go on the unibody the car would bend and touch the ground...

Im very thankful i live in my neighborhood.. Ive got a swamp to the left of me, neighboors ( that once were evil but we drove them outa their house) that are moving, ppl to the right of me own 4 harleys a couple BMW's and he absolutely loves classic cars, ppl behind me dont care wtf i do and im friends with them and everyone else on my culdesak is cool with the exception of 1 family but they live the farthest away. I have yet to get any complaints about vehicles and i have a boat that couldnt look any worse thats been out there for 2 years in the road, a taurus that doesnt have a title, a 72 240z parts car on jacks ,covered by a tarp and parts everywhere, a snowmobile trailer filled with parts, and a 76 280z all in my driveway. This doesnt even include the 3 daily drivers in my house. Wow... my yard looks like sh*t!

i was watching the news and some reporter says he hears rumours that the average price my jump to $5 a gallon. for average. wtf is that seriously. but i guess alot of newenglands main supply of oil was shut down due to the strom or on idle. This really stinks =(

nothing tops mine heh... it was so rotted i couldnt restore it. The whole unibody was rust it wasnt metal . I could tap it and it would crumble up. Ill take some pics and show u how bad the rust really is its ridiculous, i sanded down the fenders and atleast half of it was made bondo i was so mad =(and the quarters and rockers werent there anymore they were just rot hole filled with bondo GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

would a 88 300zx manifold and turbo and all that good stuff fit on a 280?

alright i say we all form a group and go steal some oil tankers... YAHH!!! (not...)
