My Z project is underway
Heh the 280 i just bought came with the fenders off so i go a nice look at it =) and a real nice look at the brand new OEM fenders that came with it . I went over it with a magnet and everything seemed fine, thats why i dont understand why there was so much bondo in the rear end. I litteraly went over every square foot of it. Musta just been a strong magnet :disappoin

240z parts selling and sold =)
Well as many of u know im parting out a 1972 240z that was a totally complete and just taken off the road.. it to rotted for restoration so im parting it out and putting the money into my 280. Some parts have sold but its about 95% complete and if i were to assemble it, i could drive it around town ( except i sold the throttle linkage) Anyways i already have some satisfied customers so if you need ANY z part dont hesitate to ask. Sorry for the spam but i just figured for those who dont know now they do! =) You can contact me by email at cKy7290@yahoo.com or PM me. Hope to hear from you! Pics are availible upon request and you can see pics of the engine bay and the car as whole in my gallery.

So glad i got it running but i almost cried today =( I was drivin it around my block for sh*ts and giggles and the battery wasnt strapped in and it slid off the tray and onto one of the original braided lines and it ripped

Ebay Car big buck low mileage '73 does the seller have a clue?
this is a really really really nice Z for being all original, but he does seem kinda bananas. I think Ed is right about parting with a Z... i dont think i could imagine the pain!... Anyways I would like to see a hell of alot more pictures and the engine bay seemed like kind of a mess to me. In a way it is all original because he has the Carbs and all that good stuff. I did take the time to read the whole entire page and if i were interested in buyin the car i would write to him asking for more pics, why the price is so so high, tell him my knowledge of the Z because compared to his im freakin Einstein and i would like pics of the documentation, but most of all i would have to see it in person before making any kind of a deal because this guy is either sad or an arse =)

My Z project is underway
heh. I hate telling my story... I bought this really nice 240z that i couldnt see a damn thing wrong with except the usual rotted battery tray area and need of floor pans. So im thinking this shouldnt be an extremely hard resto. So i finally get the whole suspension out, engine is stripped down to the block. Put a couple hundred into it and then take off the fenders for some treatment of the unibody and i find out its rusted beyond repair ( frame rails ended up being shot, front end of the unibody was so weak you could stab a screw driver through any part, rear end was made of bondo and the floors rotted up into the trans tunnel and up onto the fire wall. What im trying to get at is that although J P D's Z may look like its in nice shape but you really dont know until you take it apart. My Z looked fine when i first got it home. Hell the thing only had 50k original miles on it, but it turned out to be unrestorable. I think hes doin the right thing by stripping it down and doin it over right especially since he has the knowledge, connection, time and money to do it with. Luckily a guy had started a resto in the town next over and ended up not finishing it ( because he didnt have the time or money) And now i have a 1976 280z from cali that i just started restoring and a perfect parts car to go with it. I could wip my car together now and pass inspection and get it registered, but since i have the time to restore it ( notice how i didnt say money? =P) im gunna do it right so i know i have a nice and for the most part rust free Z on the road that i can proudly say i restored :knockedou . Ill stop blabin now but anyways enjoy the restoration!

HELP ME!!! only gettin fuel to 1 cylinder!
alright thanks for ur help dude... heh i guess im on my own here.. Anyways im sure its just sum stupid little thing that im not noticing and its VERY annoying. My skill level is moderate to high, however my tools are limited. I dont have many advanced tools however i do have some random very nice tools that i have no idea where they came from or when i used them :lick: I think ill just have to use process of elimination and just sit down and think of what ive down. This usually works however ive done it several times now

HELP ME!!! only gettin fuel to 1 cylinder!
sorry for the spam but this is by far the most annoying thing thats happened to me since ive been working on Z's I just rechecked EVERY connection for the fuel injection and only found 1 loose connection but it turned out that wasnt the problem... omg... i dont know what to do. I took it all apart labeled everything and put it back together without disturbing anything but a new fuel injector off a parts car.... I know im not gettin any power to the fuel injectors but i just cant figure out why.. any input would be great right now i think im beyond frustrated
-
HELP ME!!! only gettin fuel to 1 cylinder!
well right now im kinda imobile but uhh im 99.9% sure im not gettin any power to the Fuel injectors.. Am i suppose to like prime the system or is there any special thing im suppose to do when i put it all back together? also the EGR... its just kinda chillen there do i need to do sumthin with it now that its not connected to the exhaust manifold? I tried it without crimping the line but it did the same thing the i crimped it so it would kind of be plugged and that did nuthin. Im kind baffled here... i dont get how this happened... nothing changed before i took it apart and put it back together...

HELP ME!!! only gettin fuel to 1 cylinder!
ok ive narrowed it down to the fuel injectors not working... i sprayed some starting fluid in their and it fired but died due to lack of fuel.. Any suggestions on how to get the injectors working again?

HELP ME!!! only gettin fuel to 1 cylinder!
After dissasembling and reassembling my fuel injection system ( for cleaning and replacing 1 fuel injector) i couldnt get it started. So i rechecked ALL of my connections and vaccum hoses. I cranked it for like 5-10 mins overall now but still nuthin! I checked the lines for gas and its definantly getting clean healthy gas, but i pulled the plugs to see if there was any fuel on em and only 1 cylinder looked wet. I would think after this much cranking and flooding of the engine there would be some gas on the plugsbut nooo... Anyways i went back and checked my connections for lets see... the 6th time? and everything seems good to go.. is there something im missing? what should i check? im bamboozled
-
couple questions
ok now this is irritating... i cant figure it out.. nuthin seems wrong!!! ahh!!
-
Got it Done!
wow... i now have a goal for my Z except i like the rims i currently have =) gives it kinda of a muscle car look ( they are american racing rims)

240z horn is weak. Should I replace?
try checking the connections and maybe disconnect it and then clean everything. You might be gettin a bad ground. This has happened to me on lets see... 6 cars that i have fixed. Could be a really simple thing like that. kinda doubt the horn or relay is gone but if what i say doesnt work try replacing them
