sry wen i posted it i was quite tired. its a 1972 datsun 240z with 2 SU carbs. how much would a brake cylinder cost for this type of car and my last question is there seems to be like a screw or something missing from the header and it blows out air giving it kinda of a odd noise (its not pinging or knocking). The location of the missing screw is about half way down the header on the right side if ur looking at the car from the driver side. I dont know if suppose to be missing or its suppose to be there because i couldnt find anything on it in the manual. Anyways thanks for the responses guys i really appreciate it.

=( i broke the bleed screw on the right rear drum brake. I bled the rest of the system and im still getting decent brakeing, but what do i do now? another problem is my 72 datsun has spot from 2000-4000 rpms where it runs terrible. before i started changing stuff around on the carb i figured i would ask people here and also to say my muffler is gone and could possibly be a factor. My final question is what to do about my floorboards... mine need to be replaced in both sides of the car, but the support underneath them ( im not quite sure what its called, but it runs underneath the floor boards giving them support) is rotted completely aswell, maybe there is a kit that sells driver and passenger supports. Also how would i go about putting floorboards in, could i screw them into existing metal instead of welding?

hello, i posted before about a problem with my 1972 datsun 240z and so far it has not been solved. The car ran a year ago however she doesnt run now. It recieves plenty of fuel and what seems to be good spark. The engine will crank and then backfire unbelievably loud. I have replaced the distributor cap, rotar, plugs, and wires. I thought maybe the distributor rotar was 180* off but i couldnt get it to go on the other way leading me to believe thats not the problem. I regapped the points and rechecked the firing order and everything seems correct.. someone plz help me! =)

i matched it up with the firing order in the chiltons manual, and i wasnt able to turn the rotar 180* so im assuming thats all correct

Hello, im having a serious problem trying to get my 1972 datsun 240z started. All the plugs are recieving a spark and fuel is reaching the carbs without any problem. The engine will just turn over until it lets out a massive backfire in which it actually blew my muffler in two, however, it only does this occasionally. Does anyone know what the problem may be?
