Ok- thanks for all of the info. I will also definately be sure and register the VIN. Thanks for the welcome, and hope to meet some local Z'ers soon.

Hey guys, just picked up my first 240z yesterday. Loving every minute of driving it. My first Z was a 88 Turbo, but this Z is completely different in my opinion. Gets a lotta looks too. I was in Addison, and a guy jumps out of his Navigator, and shouts OMG that is Badaxx! Needless to say, he scared the poop out of me! He was from Calif., and hadn't seen one in forever he said. But anyway, I will be posting pics very soon. I should have it up and running by this weekend, just in time to cruise! The question I had is regarding the Vin, and was wondering what the difference was between the Series 1,2,3. My VIN is HLS3022541. Also, not sure if anyone knows of a Marty Johnson, but he was the previous owner, before selling it to the sellers i purchased it from in Greenville. Thanks for any info you may be able to provide. By the way, it is a 71. Thanks again & hope to hear from you soon.

Hey gang, just thought I would drop some info on a 1973 240Z for sale, right outside of Greenville TX. It is yellow, but may have been another color originally. The paint is faded, but the interior is not that bad. On a scale of 1-10, I would give the body a 7. (Very little rust-solid floor pans) All glass is solid, as well as most of the weatherstripping. The interior is about a 6. This car has a Calif. plate on it, and has not been started in about 1 yr according to the man selling it. It may have an L28 swap as well, I could not see because I did not have enough light. I can assure you that it has a tranny swap, that is now a 5spd though. Has some good wheels also, and I know it has the earlier version carbs as well. (Pre-emmision) The only enterior piece missing is the center console which is an easy find. You may have to end up getting a bonded title from what I could understand from the current seller. He is not the original owner, and cannot get in touch with him. That is the only reason I decided against it. I found an orange 71 for $1800 the same day. Anyhow-the place it is located is called Larrys Car Parts, and the number is (972) 529-4906. I could not start it, because the battery was removed. This car is definitely a keeper, and if anyone is interested I will meet up with them for directions or go look at it and get the VIN or answer anymore questions. I would hate to see it keep sitting there if someone could afford to take it. BTW- he frequently has other Z's and classics for sale on, and off, so it would be good to keep his name and number, if you are looking or will be soon. He is asking for $1500-but trust me when I say this is negotiable. I have talked to him several times, and he is a good guy to work with. Someone could have this Z for $800 to $1000 if you go to him with cash in hand. Maybe even less than that. Well, sorry for the booklong post, but I did not want to leave anything out. Feel free to ask me anything you want, and I will go back and check it out. My name is Ryan-(903) 816-2927. Apogolies if this is in the wrong forum-I am a rookie!!
  5. Nahh!!!! Don't tease like that!!! Good one though!!!
  6. I live in Dallas, TX; so its kinda a crapshoot as to what the weather holds. Usually never really too harsh though!!!
  7. You guys all give strong points!! That's why I came here. I needed you guys to push me over the edge and you did a great job. Now to find an owner for the MR2! I know I am making the right choice, and look forward to having many discussions with you on different Z related issues. I can't wait til I am officially the owner of the Z. Should be late August before I have the money, but I have to leave a deposit today after work. It is selling for $2000, but the lady is older and willing to let me pay it out, then take the car. Thanks for all your help!!! I will post pics as soon as possible!
  8. Hey guyz!! I am in a sticky situation, and in need of some advice. I know it may be hard to get an unbiased opinion with the choices, but I'm sure some of you are familiar with the MR2. To be specific, the two cars are a 1991 N/A MR2 that I currently drive, or a 1971 240z that is very complete and in just as good condition, aside from needing a paint job. I have had the MR2 for about a year, and its an awesome car, but I can't get the Z out of my head. I would only be able to keep one for very long, with both being 2-seaters. I know it will come down to me choosing in the end, but this is the site whose opinion I take as seriously as my own. Is there a way to compare the pros and cons of both with them being as different as they are? I am leaning towards the Z, because I love it and always wanted one. I just never thought about having to sacrifice my other toy!! Please offer any opinions!
