Born in the PI here, Cavite City (USNS Sangley Pt, to be exact) Nice car, you would love my freshly powdercoated lime green oil pan!
  3. He charges $175 for these. I can't compare it to jet hot, but he also has the shiny chrome like finish available, and I do know he has a big tumbler to polish the insides. I think he said he gives lifetime warranty on new and 3 year on used stuff that he coats, but don't quote me on it.
  4. I had chris at www.cecoatings.com ceramic coat my rusty old header. First he derusted and cleaned it, then applied silver coating inside and out, tumbled it to polish the inner part of the tubes and coated the outside in black. Before: After:
  5. deleted by me.
  6. I went for the last 2 choices. I can't stand people who just hand over their credit card and say 'make it happen', and its the overall packages fit finish and cleanliness. I can appreciate a perfectly stock restored 240z as much as a blown 350 with a great stereo setup, as long as they both are done correctly.

If I see it at SEMA, I will find out for you.
  8. thanks I'm actually in the middle of a comlete rebuild, so oil and filter change are the least of my worries.
  9. or should I replace it. The grooves aren't real deep, but there are plenty of them, and the "how to rebuild your nissan/datsun ohc engine' book says 'If your fingernail goes bumpety bump, better get a new pump'

looking at the front of the engine, the pump is on the lower left side. Diagonally across from the distributor. They share a common shaft.

probably, they just barely dont clear the toyota calipers
  12. 2003z replied to Arne's post in a topic in Wheels & Brakes
I'm using the supplied caps and spacers, but thats because I have 280 front hubs with a one-off S12W brake conversion that won't clear the wheels anyway.
  13. I too saw Austin's car at Zdayz. The thought and workmanship he put into it, plus knowing that he did EVERYTHING himself, and its not a 'checkbook tuner' really shows a lot about his dedication and pride in the car.

thanks, mine is a track/weekend car so I guess the intake manifold heat isn't necessary. I may just leave off the heater hoses for now also. Think there would be any problem just plugging the line where it enters the block and goes to the heater and plugging the cylinder head return line? I know the way the PO had it looped, the line was kinked and not flowing anyway.

where do these hoses go? I know 2 of the 3 are for the heater, which is currently bypassed, but where does the 3rd one go? Both the Haynes and Clymer manuals don't have a clear picture of the cooling system other than it enters and exits the engine on the front portion.

350z seats. Keeps it in the family, cushions are same dimensions as 240z seats and they can even be mounted slightly lower than stock if you need more headroom. (I don't, I had to use 3 240z spacers to get them at the right height for me)
  17. I visited several times in 1988 myself, but never staying for more than a few seconds each time!
  18. I did mine in chrome powdercoat. Not perfect, but I like it.
  19. I think the time between the hybrid Z guys deciding to try out for the show and the actual race was only about 2 months or less. It all happened fairly quickly.
  20. say what you want about the hybrid z guys and the racing, but its all in what you negotiate, which can equalize any two cars. What really showed it for me, was how the chevy driver, in every race he was leading was constantly turning his head and looking back at the Z. They were holding out the entire time, and imho, were never fully on it until the last race, where they walked them.
  21. Get Dr. Demers brake coolers.
  22. bright green/black
  23. 24.5" at every corner. Eibach front springs Tokico 280z rear springs Tokico illumina shocks 205/50-15 tires.
