If the company no longer exists, who are you going to sue? And are you really going to sue over $30?

Sport Z is no more, get over it. Your choices are take the new magazine's offer, or take nothing. If they had the money to refund your subscription, they would probably still be in business. I don't consider it stealing, if in good faith, they took your subscription money and tried to make the magazine work, but in all of their best efforts, it failed. I'm just glad the new magazine is honoring our subscriptions, its more than any other out of business magazine has offered.

welcome, former 350z owner here. Also check out www.hybridz.org, they are much more mod friendly there. I consider them and this site to be the perfect complimentary pair. Between the 2, you will find everything you need.

I've got a set of those on 195/60-14s, although I have never used them on the car, it came with them as spares. I run the RT-615 in 205/50-15 though, which is about the same size, and now every other zcar with the correct size looks like they have tank tires on them.

    they are good tires.
  6. I think its pretty cool! I've actually seen several over the years, and if they didn't do it, it probably would have wound up at the crusher anyway.

Nice to know all of the classic owners aren't elitest, like most on this board! Congrats again.
  8. Did you attach the throttle return springs to the heat shield? I forgot to on mine once and had the same problem, well not wide open, but when I stepped on the gas, it stayed there.

I actually like not having to click on a thumbnail. If its a thumbnail, I won't open it. Just stick with 800x600 so as not to widen the screen.

and seeing Austins car in person is real inspiration. He is very humble, but it is an exceptional car.

402 people in attendance I cant remember the exact number of cars, but it was between 230 and 275 One 350z from the detroit club went off the side of the mountain a day or 2 before the event, and one 300zx got ran off the road and down a 15ft dropoff on saturday. Both drivers unhurt, 350z totalled, 300zx minor damage. There were probably about double the number of attendees who showed up on thursday or earlier this year, as compared to other years. You really do need friday to go driving. We didn't get to take a group photo by the dam this year after the show due to rain. There were numerous parties each night, with the highlight probably being Doug Stewart from Crawford Z car service and his gasoline powered margarita blender. He always has it, but this year on saturday night, they loaded up the truck with people and went from cabin to cabin with it on the roof of the truck.

Best in show, ZDAYZ 2006 this weekend! Although its mostly 350z's there, more and more early cars are coming out now, and every year, its been a 1st gen. car that has won best in show! Its a people's choice car show, so it shows that even if the old school guys dislike the 350z's, at least the 350z's appreciate our old ones.

  14. You can ship it to me and I will forward it to you, at cost. I get a good airline discount with DHL, it cost me $65 to overnight the ECU from our G35 to Japan, so it shouldn't be much more than that. (they only give a discount on overnite to us)

While its dangerous, it is legal here. They are going the speed limit, any faster would be illegal. Just shows, the slow drivers are the real danger.
  16. 2003z replied to peng155's post in a topic in Open Discussions
This is what happens when you slow down and go the speed limit, at least in atlanta, where noone does. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5366552067462745475&q=speed+limit Its worth watching. It was done by some georgia tech students for their film festival, its what happens when a group of cars all go 55.

ok, maybe revenue was a bad word, I meant profit. Its all profit for the government, whereas the oil company does have the costs you mentioned and others. Here is one of the places I have read about it, there are so many, I can't site a single source though. Here is one place I have read about it. http://boortz.com/nuze/200604/04262006.html its been a compilation of reading and radio reports.

Rick, I don't know how it is down under, but I expect worse than here, but our government in the US gets more than 2 and a half times as much revenue out of every gallon of gas than the oil companies do.
  19. 2003z replied to peng155's post in a topic in Open Discussions
Its justified because they have to use the money they earn on that tank of fuel to buy the next tank full, so gas is priced not according to what they paid for it, but what its replacement is going to cost when the tank is empty. Oil companies only make about an 8% profit margin, which is about the lowest of any industry. Profits are at a record high, but thats because the crude prices are, they still are getting a small return on their investment. Ultimately, its the shareholders that are getting those record profits, and the majority of share holders are mutual funds and retirement funds. As for mileage, I drive my C6, as it gets better mileage than the datsun and is much more comfortable ( no heat or air in the Z). In reality though, is $10-20 more per week really gonna kill you?

  21. the harness with relays is plug and play and inexpensive. In my opinion, a system with relays is the only way to go. As it is now, the full current runs through your headlight switch, and even through the high beam indicator in the speedometer. If you add the relays, you will get full power to the headlights, plus it will be easier on the rest of the system. It sounds like you've burned and shorted a wire somewhere in the system. Try doing a continuity check with an electric meter. Another possibility, albeit a slim one, is that both low beams are burned out. That happened to the high beams on my last 240 and I spent months trying to figure out why they didn't work, even though they had power.

powdercoating is more durable than painting, but unless you have a local powdercoater that you trust, you are better off going to a body shop. If you have to ship them to be coated, its not worth it. (and thats coming from a professional powdercoater). Either way, I would strip them with either aircraft stripper or media blasting, repolish the lips, paint or powdercoat the centers your color of choice and then clearcoat the entire wheel, paint or powder, again.
  23. Mine never had a clear on it, as far as I know. But yes, you can get it cleared in whatever gloss level you want. Flat, Semi, Satin, High or Mirror. There is even a blasted aluminum powder that can be applied first that looks like freshly blasted aluminum. I think the best would be to polish it, then clear coat, but thats just me. I've never actually seen one in a fresh factory finish.
  24. ok, let me know!
  25. for paying customers, I mask everything off so it doesn't get inside. Since this is mine, and its only cosmetic, as its not going to break down or anything, I didn't mask and probably got a little overspray in it. I am going to sand it off of the mating surfaces before install though.
