  1. I'm not much into polishing, but if you could polish the accents first, it would run $60. $100 if I polish, plus shipping.
  2. Finally getting things done in anticipation of zdayz! Its black with lime green accents to match the car, and then has a mirror clearcoat over it.
  3. with spacers they do. Without spacers they would be just a little bit lower. The seat bottom on the 350 seats extend below the sliders a little, is why.
  4. 1" angle iron. Unfortunately, I didn't think to take pictures while I worked. I can try to diagram it later though.
  5. not sure what you mean?I used 3 spacers in the rear of the pax seat and one in front, and 3 and 0 on the drivers as the front seat height is adjustable.
  6. yes it is. I did the larger master cylinder, vented 4x4 front and 280zx rear brake conversion. Here is the whole car:
  7. not too bad. they are fully functional, fore and aft and recline. The driver side also has a front height adjuster. To install, I basically, Removed sliders from stock seats, drilled a hole through them and ran a bolt through the stock sliders and put a nut on the other end to make them fixed, instead of slideable, and cut off the arm that moves them. The 350 seats had mounting sliders that weren't flat, so I had to cut off the mounting legs, leaving just the flat part of the sliders. Bolted angle iron to the sliders. I use these sliders for the fore/aft movement. With the stock sliders in place in the car, I made 2 more angle iron pieces to go left to right across them, making a square frame with the stock, now fixed, sliders and the angle iron. I bolted that frame to the new flat surfaced angle iron on the 350 seat sliders, and mounted the whole assembly in the car. The side plastic trim on the new seats had to be trimmed to fit the footwell, but other than that, they are perfect.
  8. I paid $350 for them, plus about $30 in hardware and angle iron to mount.
  9. they are overall the same height, width and thickness of the original 240z seats.
  10. Much more comfortable than hard plastic racing seat that came with the car, but they will still hold me in place on the track.

^ What he said. If it saves you a little time or aggravation down the road by having a little gem that the others don't have, it will be worth the money. I've got the 70-76 edition, and its been a help.

and with a little work, 350z seats fit nicely also. They are pretty much the same width, height and seat cushion height as a 240z seat, but take a little work to install.

I recently got one from northern tool and equipment for $79. Its a 20 gal one and needs 10 gallons of fluid. I just use the petroleum distillates that Northern sells in their store, which cost $100 for the 2 5-gallon buckets. I use it for my powdercoating business, as I coat about 3-5 sets of corvette calipers per week, minimum. It has really cut the cleaning time, a quick soak in the solvent and scrub, then another scrub down with simple green. Probably half as much work as using simple green only. Just don't put rubber parts or seals in it if use use the distillates, as it will ruin them. I soaked a set of dust boots in for a couple hours (forgot about them). I just wanted to loosen the grime before cleaning them and they swelled up to over twice their size!

it seems to me, if I recall correctly, there are only 2 wires in the harness that can be crossed, so You don't really need to label the wires. There is only one place they can go. The exception is the high beam and alternator wires. They are real thick, one is white/red and the other is red/white. Their plugs are identical at the engine/dash harness mating place, and if you are like me, you might swap them and then spend months trying to figure out why your high beams don't work and your battery won't charge.

I haven't used it, but its got great reviews on other forums.
  18. awesome! I'm running an S12w / 280zx setup on my 240. Let me know if you have any questions!
  19. while I wired my own, I must say, your price is more than reasonable for what you are providing.
  20. so you are talking about painting the inside of the cup that the instrument is in? If so, another option would be a chrome powdercoat. I'm eventually putting the speedhut faces on mine. (black with indiglo numbers, so it looks close to stock with lights off)
  21. I don't know when the admin's will approve it, but I posted a .jpg of the wiring diagram in my gallery that is of sufficient quality to blow up and print out on several sheets. I don't remember what software I used to print it several years ago, but I was able to print it out over 16 pages and tape together when I did my wiring work on my old car. Maybe it will help someone?
