  1. you don't see the picture? It shows up for me.Anyway, a little further searching revealed I put them in backwards. What I get for settling with the first post I found telling which way they went. It was wrong.
  2. yeah, get a used one. I got a broken one from zcar atlanta for $25, because it was broken, but I also just needed the hi/lo portion of the switch, so it worked for me. Unbroken, they wanted $45.
  3. I've got over 4" clearance on back, and 1/2" clearance on front between the tires and fenderwells, and the tires are 205/50-15, so they are pretty short already. I put the long, more loosely wound ones on the back and the shorter, more tightly wound ones on front, which I read somewhere on here, but I think I reversed them. Any other ideas? The car sat at a normal rake with 280 tokico springs, before this, just not low.

sounds like a quality set. Mind telling us the brand/source? thanks! Mike
  5. http://www.bavarianimports.net/ Go to this site, and click on driving school. The Ga. Z club is running an event with them on Oct. 9th at little dega. The Z club side is full, but I think the other part may still have slots open. At least on the corvette forum, he posted he still had 5 spots the other day.

Just like its hard to believe that the same current that powers the high beams also illuminates the high beam indicator in the speedo!

there should be a black/white wire coming from the tachometer. It feeds the power to the coil. The wire actually goes from a green/white from ignition switch, into the tach and out as a black/white wire. thats a good starting point.
  9. What type of racing? Drag racing: Atlanta Dragway, Commerce. Right off I-85 behind the outlet malls. Just about every friday is fast fridays, a test n tune. Show up by 530. gates open at 6, but it gets real crowded by 8. You can get several runs in if you are early though. www.atlantadragway.com Silver Dollar Raceway: Down by Macon, but a faster track I think there is an 1/8th mile strip out near Dallas Road: Road Atlanta, Braselton. Pricy for track days, but awesome track. Little Talladega (TGPR). Lots of clubs use this track outside of birmingham. 1.3 mile road course. No obstacles, lots of runoff, perfect for first timers, and usually in the 100-200 price range. Autocross: SCCA

yes, I use 2 fused feed wires.

well, since you are asking, My system allows for usage of high or low beams with failure of the other subsystem, since they are wired independantly of each other. That, in my opinion is an improvement, and the initial thread was about rewiring.

not boasting at all, nor impllying its better. Just sharing the way I did it. I just didn't expect to get shat all over for sharing my idea.

I still may replace the rest of the wire out to the lights, the project is only partly finished. As for butchering the loom, who cares? I like the cleaner look of having a separate pigtail come out of my harness to a mounted relay box. Mine cost a little over $10 and I got the satisfaction of doing it myself, from design conception to finish. If you don't like the idea of cutting the stock wiring, you will really hate my new MSA bumper and foglights! I am intimately familiar with the wiring, I actually took 2 harnesses and dissected, tested, and labelled every single wire on them to make one pristine harness, along with modifications where I felt them necessary.

And while this might have been only a level 3 storm when it hit, the levels are only based on wind speeds. Based on barometric pressure, (which causes the storm surge), it was the 4th most powerful hurricane in recorded history!

glad to see prices are coming back in line. sure beats the $6/gal. the news was reporting earlier.

I converted my headlights today. Its very simple without a kit. You need a relay holder, 2 relays, 2 fuses, and some wire. With the stock setup, the Red wire powers the right headlight, the Red/Yellow powers the left. The Red/White is the ground for high beams and the Red/Black is the ground for low beams. With my system, the R powers the low beams and the RY powers the highbeams. I mounted the relay holder on the fender well, just forward of the voltage regulator. First unwrap the wiring harness in the vicinity of the VR. Cut the Red, Red/Yellow, Red/White and Red/Black wires. Wire as follows: 1st relay 86- R from cockpit 85- RB from cockpit 30- to alternator (inline fuse here) 87- RB to headlight 2nd relay 86- RY from cockpit 85- RW from cockpit 30- to alternator (inline fuse here) 87- RW to headlight Take the R and RY from headlight, splice and ground to chassis. Pure voltage straight from alternator and much brighter than stock, without the hassles of the harness.

I would take the sky over the solstice. Saw them both at an autoshow, and its definitely more my style.
  18. on the 350z front struts, the boot kind of sits over the bump stop, if I recall correctly (recently traded the 350 on a C6 vette, so I can't check), but I think they might work as a suitable replacement, and list is only 15 each. its worth a try. They are about 2" round and 6-8" long, not accordianed.

I don't do polishing, but if you get the lips polished first, I can color coat the centers then clear the entire wheel so it never needs polishing again, or just leave the polished part uncoated.

I can do them for $300 plus shipping, but I get a super discount on DHL, so shipping wouldn't be that much. I'm in atlanta area
  23. notice any difference in power, now that you aren't driving the pump anymore? I would think in combination with an electric fan it should free up a few ponies.
  24. the idea is great but it scares me. What if it fails? My stillen supercharger on the 350 has an electric water pump powering the intercooler, and I've had 3 of them fail. Fortunately, stillen has sourced a new manufacturer, and its working good so far, but losing an intercooler pump is nothing compared to losing your cooling system.
