  1. Please remember to post pictures of these wheels, I keep seeing 15x8's online but I can never see a difference between the zero offset and the 25. Thanks
  2. Not sure where you are going to get 255/50/15 tires? Do they still make that size? Anyway, yes you will need spacers if these are going on an S30. The 25mm offset on the 15x8 enkei 92's will hit the stock springs, if you have installed coil overs I still think you would hit them with such a high offset. Ideally, you want get your wheels as close to zero offset as possible. The maximum without going too far past the fender would be a 25mm wheel adapter or 20mm if you want the wheels to be a little further into the wheel well. This would be perfect if you intend on running a 225/50/15 tire which is much more common size.

Mike, thank you for the kind words. I am currently busy taking a course but I will try to find some time to start updating it again. The reason why I did not include the Panasports and Rewinds in my initial post was due to the fact that I was only looking at newer (within the year wheel options). In hindsight, it was probably better to include any wheel that is available at a retailer or online for purchase.

Here you go, it is a little dated now. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?41478-Latest-wheel-selections-and-personal-reviews-which-one-is-your-favourite

I saw these in person, yuk!

Wheels are really all about personal choice. I did start what I thought was a really cool thread some time ago describing what is currently available for s30's but for some reason no one really seemed to care much or even thank me for taking the time to do it so I did not bother keeping it up. Just go with what style you like and if you need help with fitment there are many people on here who can help.
  7. I do not like NADA, looked over their site one day for over an hour and was not impressed.

This may be a little harsh but you wanted a comparison. Never liked the brand nor does the wife and that is why they make different cars for different tastes. Where I am from during the summer months there are far fewer S30's on the road than your typical Porsche. Value is not important to me it's the look and style that count.
  9. Yeah these things were a piece of garbage on these cars
  10. I know for a fact it does not have a dash cap, I have one on my 280z and I would have spotted it immediately on this one. I will be removing it from the car and I will take a photo of the entire dash, the rest of it is mint from what I see.
  11. Here are the pictures. Zkars, thanks for the information. I thought there would be electrical issues, I am thinking that it is more with the connectors and not the actual instruments within the dash? I had to rewire the windshield washer bottle to fit with my 280 which had different connectors.
  12. You're correct, I was going to add some pictures soon, I just got the car less than 24 hours ago. I am noticing there is a slight rippling effect depending on the angle I am looking at it from.
  13. Hi everyone, I got myself a parts car today and thought i was getting a mint dash but noticed some bubbling at the top when I cleaned it up and looked at it more carefully. I have a couple of questions. First, is there a way to smooth out the bubbling? (The dash has no holes or cracks) Second, will this dash be a direct fit into my 1976 280z? (Keep in mind that the one in the parts car is from a late 260z which looks like the 280z dash, not the 240's. Thank you for any help or suggestions.
  14. With a zero offset wheel you will actually be closer towards the suspension than the -17 wheel which would move closer towards the outer fender. Be careful unless you plan to remove them, you have ZG flares on your car, if I remember correctly you can use a very low offset wheel, 16x9 -13 in the front and a 16x9.5 -19 in the rear. This would make the wheel(s) sit just right in the wheel wells.
  15. Well, I did not actually tell him that he should cut his springs, rather suggested it. I have come across over 20 cars including mine and friends who have never had issues with ride or alignment, first I have heard of this. My 280 rides better than my brothers Z which has a Tokico set up, go figure.
  16. Two things. First, you will need to lower the car about the amount you mentioned. You can get Arizona springs which I have heard will lower your car about 1.5", or you can do what I did and just cut your stock springs (about 1.5 coils from the top and bottom on each spring) car drives nice and sits low. Second, if you want to keep those wheels, you will need a very wide wheel adapter to fill the gap between fenders and wheels, possibly a 2 inch adapter which is not the safest recommendation.

Yikes, another 8 spoke design, how original...... If we are going to keep seeing replicas, I would like to see their old Daytona styled wheel, similar to the ATS Classic or Work Ewing III remade.

I looked at these on their website, the 17x7.5's seem to be RB's and the 17x8.5's are RB-R. If that is the case, the faces are going to look different, I hope they told you this before your purchased. Or you may know and don't care. Post some pics when you get a chance
  19. I could not find this on Ebay so I can not comment on the actual car. I did see pictures of others and I keep getting reminded how ugly they made the bumpers on later s30's, stupid government legislation.

Which '74 bumpers? The thinner styled ones? Or the Thicker ones? The early '74 260z had the thinner styled bumpers like a 240z and the later 260z's had the thicker bumper just like the 1975-76 280z. If you are referring to the latter, than yes you can.
  21. I hope you mean 16x7.5!? Are you using spacers on your car? To me, they seem like hi-offset wheels.
  22. That is not good in my books, they claim to be for s30's but need spacers!? They should have made them closer to a zero offset IMO. A good set of spacers can run the wheels price up by as much as $250 more for the set.
  23. Their value most likely has gone down since there is now a close knock off available from VTO Racing. Which is most often the case when this happens.

If you are talking about just the wheels (rims) with no tires, the 8" +10 offset wheel will 'stick out' only 3mm more than the 7" zero offset wheel.

The price seems fair. As mentioned waiting is up to you, if you really like the color and style of wheel then it is worth the wait. You could try racinglab.com who also distribute rota wheels for a good price. The rubbing with the 225/50/16 could be caused from the car being lowered, it should not be as much of a factor if you are running at stock height. Very slight fender rolling is easy to do, if needed. To be safe you could go with the 225/45/16 if they are still available in that size. Or as mentioned come down a size to 215/50/16, the wheels will still look beefy enough and allow a little more travel.
