    "Major ones"? What is missing?
  3. that does look good. i like that. Thats the same shade of blue i'm going to be getting.
  4. thanks for the warning. i'll be careful, or tink of something
  5. I under estimate 240z because i raced one in my 300e. My dad was in the 240z i was in the 300e. But i guess he wasnt driving it as hard as i thought. it pulled on me for a while in the begining but when i got in the 300e power area (3000-5000rpm) i caught up and it was over for him. the reason i am building one is to give it as a present to my father. I've never driven one but it sounds like fun. Plus they look REALLY NICE. Also like you said its a very good lookin car. The z i'm restoring is stock. i'm worring more about cosmetics right now. When you said "mildly tuned" what exactly is that in the engine? Because if just a few upgrades will make that much of a difrence i think i need to make some mods. To help me get a feel for how fast it is. Here is a list of cars i have driven. Tell me what this car would most feel like (i know all cars are diffrent but what is most like of these cars?). 1-1989 325i 2-1992 300e 3-1988 m3 4-1988 super eta 528e 5-1995 m5 6-1991 porache 911 7-1998? caddy el derado thanks Matt

Yea they do. These arnt covers thou. The actuall cloth was ripped off. They added some padding and made a two tone leather. btw, when i put the seat togther theres a really big gap in between, i know thats how all our seat are but its seems a little bigger. How big is the gap in your seats? inchs I mean? just wondering
  8. I've never been able to drive my 240z yet since i got it, because its always been "in peices". So i dont really know how fast it is. I want to know everyones most crazy kill storys but, heres the thing, your car has to have the L24 engine. Please include any mods you have done if any. Just trying to get an idea about how quick a 240 really is and what it is capable of. Sanks Matthew
  9. Just out of curiuosity what do you have done to your engine? If thats stock then i think i've been under-estimating datsuns. (i woulnt know how fast my car is because its never run since i got it!)
  10. as soon as you get the chance get some pics!

I dont know if this has been discussed, or if i even put it in the right catagory but has anyone purchased the 240z weatherstriping kits off of ebay? I'm talking about ones like these http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7984619154&fromMakeTrack=true I ask because i need to weather strip my whole car. Is this a good price or is there a cheaper way? has anyone purcaced from this guy before? What are your opinions on this kit? worth it? Does this kit pretty much geteverything? I think it does but i'm not sure. let me know. Sanks. Matt Bemmerguy714

i bought one for my 240z that was used. I still havent installed it but when i do i'll let u know.
  18. thanks. yea when i was at msa purcacing the bumper, and lights that fit in there they told me i can mount it on the bumper if i wanted to. I dont think i'm going to thou. I want to keep the weight as low as i can. Plus it was pretty messed up in the front when i got it. thanks for the info EScanlon, i was going to just give the guy the bumper and wing to mount while painting. The only reason i didnt put it on my self is that the front had been hit (not serious maybe 30mph) so the hood is weird, bumper was bent real good and the grill is dinged up. Overall it needs some front end work (straighing and stuff). So i dont know. I think i will end up putting it up myself after hearing that. THANKS!

  20. Yeah i saw it. i like it alot. I posted in that thread about a really nice z that had the air dam blended in, in the front. i was thinking of doing somthing similar but my dad didnt want too.
  21. hi gary. Here are some pics of the wires i'm confused about. I saw that you have a 73 240z, but i think that most colors would be the same i think. ? If you can just get me a pic of where the wiring harness under the dash connects to the engine harness this would help me a bunch. I already have a bunch of diagrams and cant understand them. Kind of a messed up pic but its of three wires coming out of the bundle of wires going towards the rear of the car. Taillights maybe? idk. Starting with the left wire, it has two wires, one is solid black, the other is red with a black stripe. They are in this black thing. THese wires go in another bundle towards the rear of the car. Where do they connect to (what are they for?). Then there are two other wires in another bundle (in the same harness going towards the rear of the car). One is black and the other is read with a blue stripe. I dont know anything about either of these wires, where do they go? If someone has a pic of they'res that would help a ton. I think this wire is hooked up right, but i'm not sure (i know nothing of electric stuff in cars). This wire gets hot whenever i hook up the white/red stripe wire in the pic below. ? i dont know why this happens. btw this is a pic of the connection between the underdash harness going into the engine harness. Where does this go? it comes out of the harness under the dash. ???? :disappoin As you can see it a mess. THe dash is just laying there where the passenger seat would go. I need to get it to run. Like i said it worries me because it use to turn over and not start. now it wont even turn over. PLEASE HELP ME! if anone can get me a pic it would be a great help. Heres another dumb question. How do you read wires? Lets say theres a wire that white with a red stripe, would you write "white/red" or "red/white" or nether? Sorry for asking a stupid question, but i'm so lost.
  22. This is the blue im talking about. This picture shows the origanal blue i found under the upholstary of the door. Its kind of metallic. I like it alot. YOu can see that the color it looks like now near the bottom of the pic is really ugly. And for some reason, theres a little red in the old paint. I dont know where that came from. Also does anyone know of a good paint shop place in the Costa Mesa, Ca area? Also for those of you who didnt paint it yourself how much did it cost? I would do it myself but i dont know what i'm doing, and have never done it before so i would'nt exactly be in a rush to try it (especially not on this car).
  23. Well thanks for the opinions guys. THats true its all prefreance. I kind of like it. It gives it a modern aggresive look, and at the same time i dont see to many people with them. I guess thats the biggest reason.
  24. I'm going to make the whole car the same dark factory blue again. Why dont you like the front?
