You're welcome. If you make one try and use a fairly hard piece of steel so it won't twist too easily. I hit my key with a file and it barely made a mark, maybe use a flat piece of spring steel. Good luck.

I think both are available, they show a separate part number for each.

I just did quick google search for "small u-joint" and found this at The U-Joint Store, it's a 15mm x 40mm steering u-joint for Dodge, Chevrolet , Jeep and Ford application: Steering ujoint for Dodge, Chevrolet , Jeep and Ford (15mmx40mm) I don't know if the size is referring to the cap OD but maybe we will be lucky.

I was just looking up this part the other day on my parts CD, as mine is cracked, and I can confirm what Jim said. There is only one splash guard, on the RH side, and it is called "Protector - Filler Hose".

Are you referring to the banjo fitting bolts on the transmission cooler lines? Here is a link to a parts list and diagram: Datsun 240Z/260Z/280Z Transmission Case & Fitting (Automatic-3N71B) (From Apr.-'71) Also possibly refer to the FSM, here's a link for that as well in case you don't have one: XenonS30 I'm not sure if you will find a torque spec in the FSM, make sure the washer like gaskets are in good condition as well. It looks to me that this is one of those cases where the parts microfiche is incorrect. For the 240Z rack assembly it shows both the bearing (item 10) and the bushing (item 3) on the lower side of the pinion.

You're welcome, here is a link crossing over Timken Bearings as well. I didn't find the pinion bearing here but may be use full for others, Timken is mainly know for tapered roller bearings. Jay, I found a Timken crossover part number for the oil seal you might be able to look for, Nissan 48125-78500 SEAL-OIL crosses to Timken 221735. I also thought the brackets on your car were very stock looking, especially compared to the obvious add on ones on my car. This was just a question out of curiosity, as I have not seen brackets like yours before.

I noticed that there are two brackets, outside of the horns, on your lower rad support. Did a PO add these for fog lights? I ask because a PO of my car must have added these strange brackets to mine which I can only guess were used to hang lights from, they look like they are shelf brackets from a hardware store. I do plan to remove them. Mike

From my parts fiche CD the best I can read is P/N 48126-78500 for the pinion bushing, for up to 07/73 and P/N 48018-E8700 for the pinion bearing, from 08/71 to 07/73.
