Well, my first Z (my 1972 240Z) had been in an accident leaving my house. It belonged to a family friend and it got hit leaving my drive way after a long day of planning a dirt bike trip with my step dad. Needless to say, the previous owner had spray painted the car, just so it looked "decent", there was bondo everywhere (that wasn't very well done) and lots of little stuff wrong with it. Not to mention a used condom underneath the passenger seat. . But, I got the Z for $750 which was a steal. For my second Z, I got a donor car. The car belonged to the same guy who sold me my '72, this was his son's car though. He was going down a hill at about 25mph and lost control and hit someone head on, which totalled the car. This was the "better" out of the two before it was wrecked. It was a '73. I ended up cutting metal out of it to use, and lots of little parts, until about a month ago it was hauled off to the dump; which broke my heart, but I had no room for it, and there wasn't a lot left. I figure two Z's under my belt, and I'm only 17, that's pretty good eh?
5. I plan on owning all these in the future: 1972 Datsun 510 1972 Nissan Skyline GT-R (maybe; its a hard one to find) Early-70's Toyota Celica Early-70's BMW 2002

A free Z? Wow. I've owned two Z's, and one was free because it was totaled. Good find. You'll like the club; very nice group of people.

Welcome to the club. Can't wait to see your project.
8. i've found a few different colors, red, pale yellow, grey, white. not to mention the factory bondo they used to shape the car and stuff.
9. yeah. i know i'll feel rewarded. its just the more and more i take things apart, the more there is to fix, and it sucks because i don't have the money to make it perfect again. so i'm kinda aggravated/heart broken because i can't make it how i'd like it.
10. My '72 240Z has metal headlight buckets on both passenger and driver's side. I always thought the fiberglass or FRP buckets were made for racing; considering they're lighter weight etc. I guess I was wrong.
11. i'm seventeen as well, and i've been restoring my z that my step-dad bought me.
12. (sorry; this is kind of random). its hard to believe that i have such a love for 240Z's and Datsun's in general. i've had my 1972 240Z for two years now...and i've never driven it. it died the day i got it, and i've been working on it ever since. its a weird feeling; but i also think its going to be very rewarding. driving around a nice Z...for the first time. sorry, i had to let that one out of my system.
13. 1972 240Z; Production Date: 11/71; #HLS30-56649.
14. its a saturn. you'll get over it.
15. That's insane.
16. Except the chopped Z is photoshopped in that picture, kind of a shame.
17. No kidding, I've got an automatic, if it got stolen I would have to stab someone.
18. I thought I'd add to your point on the wrong size tires. A real race car wouldn't run low profile tires anyways. Tiny sidewalls = worst turning. F1 cars have HUGE sidewalls and they can turn like they're on rails.
19. Everything is out of place, I think it looks gross. On the other hand, ron carter's is a beauty.
20. I've got the sun/moon roof as well, like everyone else, I think they're kinda an eyesore, but its growing on me.
21. I've looked into NWDE but they rarely update and things so its hard to understand if they're still serious.
22. Damn, I got the same front air dam as well.
23. Where's the pictures?
24. My dad gave me The Ian Monster as a nickname when I was a little tyke. It just never went away.
25. Haha. Wow. That's the ugliest Honduh I've seen in a while. I like how the engine is stock, then interior is stock, AND its an automatic. But seriously. What the hell was he thinking putting the fuel door on the roof? - Ian
