Well, as most of you know, I had to put my 1972 Datsun 240Z away for good after I jumped a curb and seperated the unibody. It was a sad day. If you've seen my previous thread, you know how much hard work I put into that car to get it onto the street. I've put it behind me now, I've started parting out the car, and will most likely sell the shell. Onto the good news. Last night, around midnight, my new project came via tow truck from Marysville. A 1971 Datsun 240Z! I payed $935 for her, plus $90 for the tow truck, and boy was I happy. She is build date 10/70 and #HLS3012185. I got the car from David (Zs-Ondabrain), and we've got some plans for the car in the future, and I think we make a pretty damn good team. This car has a lot of goodies right off the bat: - Tinted windows - Dino steering wheel - L28 (Carbuerated) - Four speed - Rear sway bar with BRE hangers - R200 Rear end - Refurbished seats - The floor boards have been fixed and have been Rhinolined (good bye rust!) - Barely any rust, except for the bottoms of the fenders, battery tray, and bottoms of rear quarters - Urethane bushings - Superb body, very straight - Two sets of headers, plus full exhaust pipe and turbo muffler - 280ZX Distributor - MSD Blaster Coil Luckily the body won't be such a daunting task this time around. I'm just putting my front air dam on this one, fiberglass rear bumper. I'm going to change it up a bit and do fender mirrors, headlight covers, and finally put my Eibach springs in a car and lower her an inch and a half. I'm going to do some things to the car that I think are one off and are really going to set my car apart from the others. David and I are going to be installing power windows, power locks, hood popper, and hatch popper, as well as gold connectors, and an updated fuse system! Its going to be one hell of a car! Here's some photos: I actually got the car running today! After sitting for six or so months, I thought the car wouldn't fire right up, but after I threw a battery in it, and pumped the gas a few times, she fired right up! Now to just adjust the carbuerators and settle her in. Thanks guys, and I will keep you updated as the project moves along! I plan on making a website that is updated with my progress, I will let you know when that is released! - Ian.

Looks great! Who did you get your headlight covers through? You're in 16Niss?! I know those guys from JSPEK.
  11. No headlight covers eh? Shame. Congrats on the parts.

Not bad, but still lacking the major feel of the 240Z.

It does look suspicious. Especially because he says its perfect, but the interior sucks, and its started at $400.

Be sure to let us know when a parts list comes out, especially of JDM parts. I need some trinkets.

I can do this for you Mike! I'll have something either later tonight, or tomorrow night!
  21. Well, I live in REDMOND and Renton (when I'm at my dad's). Welcome to the club man!
  22. Very interesting indeed. I really like the looks of it, the front obviously resembles a 240Z, but the back really reminds me of a 70's Toyota Celica. Interesting car.
  23. This car has been on there several times before.
  24. Welcome to the club. There is a VIN on the right side of the firewall.
