head swap question
Yes my brother had a N42 on his L24 in his 260Z, it worked great there really nothing to worry about with N42's. I have one except on a 280Z. But you could really rebiuild your head I had a shop tell me they wanted $250 to do everything. He said about 4 days to do it just giving you options. Ian

Your opinion on tires.
I would go with a pair of Perelli tires, and for rims I like mine I will put them in my gallery, black rims studded with black knock offs.

Hp help.
Ok yes It can be turboed but $$$$$$. If you want a good cam camshafts effect you a lot, motorsport has a head rebuild kit with a stage 2 camshaft $550. Yes get headers and a good exhaust, if you want get a aluminum fly wheel but they are kinda expensive. Then front and back strut bars $115 out of Motorsport, air dam, and last but not least luevers. Oh and a 5 speed transmission.

how to kill the ghost of bad luck?:(
Well if you have say spare 300.00 dollars buy a radiator for a V8, donno if it would work just a thought, but the rest of the problems just buy presting parts so they last longer even if there pretty expensive.

Anything that you can cut and don't have to use filler just cut it off, and buy the body part at VB MS etc.
