Hi Charles, Thanks a lot. That's one of the keys to a fast lap there, and a good passing zone. See you next time. Greg

Yeah, the differential was puking out onto the exhaust. I could smell what type of oil was burning but it's not my car, so I didn't continue. Woody had a good first stent, then we worked our way up to 3rd. I love the enduro races. Greg

That 22 car is beautiful. The 85 car Woody owns is plain looking in a cool way. It hauls arse too!
-
Great Shots! That 85 car has some great brakes. It was nice to have that weapon in my bag, the brakes I mean. In SCCA majors, we're one of the worst braking cars out there. The Miatas are incredible under brakes.

What kick arse event! Special shout out to Linwood Staub for being kind enough to let me race his car during one of the 7 lap races. It really did make the fact that I had an engine problem in my car all better. I believe in one more lap, I could have been P1! Also, like to thank Randy Jaffe for putting on such a nice spread and the amount of effort that takes with his California staff. I know many of the folks that run HSR and they were very pleased at the participation of the Nissan/Datsun brand and all their loyal supporters and enthusiasts. The car count was WAY up. Till next year. Greg

The length if the rod that comes out of the booster and contacts the cup at the rear of the master cylinder. This length is very important and many times when you change the brake booster it throws the adjustment off. It may be slightly push the master cylinder piston in which messes everything up. Make sure there is free play in the rod, since you changed the booster Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile

I also use redline brand products. My race cars use the MTL and it works great. They are stock synchro gear boxes. Sent from my SM-G930V using Classic Zcar Club mobile

I need some MK63 Vented Calipers if anyone knows where I could get some or anybody wants to sell. Thanks, Greg Ira

Did you search the SCCA archives? Greg

Hell Z car folks, I always send out an email when I travel. Any z carfolks around in this area? I know that's a dumb question because it seems that most of the Z car enthusiasts are from California. Being from South Florida I don't make it out here very often. Let me know and we could get together for a beer. Regards, Greg Ira

.. a girlfriend with race monitor. Now that's a keeper!!

Thanks everyone for keeping up. I am just now coming back to Earth. While I like a good head to head battle as much as anyone, that was still an awesome outcome. The team is tempting me into going to Mid Ohio next year and the champions provisional makes it even harder to turn down. Special thanks to those that showed up and supported and especially 26th-Z for the cool pictures. All the best, Greg Ira

Hi Chuck, Here is a link to Live Timing on the SCCA site-- http://www.scca.com/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&q=live+timing&commit=Search Here is a link to SpeedCastTV which will air the race live- EP 1:55 PM Sunday!--http://speedcasttv.com/ I am not sure which is the best place to watch it live yet. You may have to root around a little bit. You are looking for the EP race. Hope you guys can see it! You can keep up with qualifying too. Race monitor (APP) or SCCA's live timing is best for this. We qualify at: Monday 9-21---9:20 AM Tuesday 9-22--3:15 PM Wednesday 9-23 - 12:00 Thursday 9-24----5PM See you, Greg

Hey Fellow Z folks, One last post before we go to Daytona. The car is ready to go, finally. We test this coming Saturday for one last time, September 19th. Qualifying for the big race begins on Monday September 21 and runs through Thursday. The racing begins on Friday the 25th with the first of SCCA's 24 classes. There are over 600 cars registered for Daytona with drivers from across the country. There will be a big Spec Miata race run under the lights on Friday which should be very fun to watch. Racing will continue all day Saturday and Sunday. My race is Sunday afternoon around 2PM. All racing including qualifying can be watched live on the 'race monitor' app. I recommend this app. Otherwise you can go to SCCA.com and search for the live timing and scoring. I will try and post a link to the live feed to watch the race on TV. We are paddocked on Lake Loyd in spaces 65-68. Please come by and say Hi if you can make it out. Hope to see you at the track! Folks, It's been awhile since I've posted and thought I'd fill you racing enthusiasts in on what we've achieved so far. Since the January Majors races in Florida I've done quite a bit of tweaking to the car. The engine that was in the car definitely was having some problems. In the 2.4 trim, which I expect to run at the September National Championship race in Daytona, we broke the track record by 2 seconds in a recent regional race. Granted we really haven't been to Daytona with this level of equipment since 2009, where we had the old lap record. Now we are solidly in the 2:04 range, which is an above 100mph average. When the rest of the E Production guys come to Daytona in September, I expect that record to fall again. I suppose in a good draft, the BMW's and the Prelude will be in the 2:03 range somewhere. We have reliability and track experience on our side for the upcoming race, although the track is very easy to learn quickly. I test for the last time in August, then will do a final preparation to the car for the Runoffs. I expect to see some of you guys come out. It should be a great race! All the best, Greg Ira

I am on a business trip. Anyone in Houston got any cool Z's I can see? Greg Ira

We had a great weekend at Sebring SCCA Double Majors and the crew had everything to do with it. We started off by having intermittent ignition failure. It would work or not, with no real reason why. I run the Electromotive crank fire ignition and we traced the problem down to a Jacobs box that's job is to provide a clean constant voltage to the ignition itself. It was an old part and since we now are using a Lithium battery to provide power, it's no longer needed. We re-wired the system and it worked fine. We ended up winning both races with quite a charge from VanSteenburg's Porsche 944 S2. VanSteenburg started from pole on Saturday. I set fast lap during that race and started from pole on Sunday. My engine is a little tired and will need a re-fresh before the next race which will either be a NOLA, Road Atlanta, or VIR. Thanks for listening. Cheers, Greg Ira

Classic Z'ers, We had a pretty good weekend overall. This was a double race weekend. After putting the car on pole with a 1:29.1 we broke a CV axle during the race with a 26 second lead. After installing my old Datsun U-joint axles, we won handily on Sunday and actually set a new track record. I'd like to thank my sponsors for helping me out and we look forward to going to Sebring this weekend. ZTrix.com Silvermine Hoosier Summit racing Nissan Carbotech Racing Brakes Greg Ira

Wow, super cool idea, no pun intended. We'd get hammered by the officials with that set up. If I raced the GTR, I would definitely have that set up. Greg
-
Yeah, hey! No problem. We'll be there. First motorhome drivers left trackside at exit of T3, East Horseshoe. Come on by! We always have a fire and a great time! Greg

Hey Folks, Just a quick note that we're preparing the 2013 National Championship EProd car for its last season of full blown competition before it gets relegated to the Vintage ranks. Our racing starts up hard in January in Florida, so anyone down here at the time please make sure to come out. January 9 weekend at Homestead and the following weekend in Sebring. This year is special in that the SCCA has announced the National Championship Runoffs to be in Daytona. So, that's a first for this Florida boy that that particular race is within 3 days driving. We'll have a huge contingent in 2015 at Daytona including my brother who won the STL National Championship at Laguna Seca this year! Special thanks to Silvermine and John Washington with Ztrix for their help. Funny enough, I offered Arizona Z some free advertising on the car and he wasn't interested. Oh well.... All the best! I will come do it with you. That looks like a blast! Greg Ira
