Anyone Need A Parts Or Project 280???
I have a 77 280z sitting on my driveway and nothing is being done with it. I originally bought it to get it running and make it into a drift car but my living situation changed and i wasn't able to have money to put into it. I'm afraid the time has come to get rid of it and I would rather have a z enthusiast take it and do something good with it than just dump it. It's NOT running so it would need to be towed or hauled etc. The motor is pretty much complete and i got running for only a few minutes with black smoke coming out the tailpipe. Number 1 and 2 pistons have extremely low compression so it most likely needs to be rebuilt or replaced. The interior is in pretty good shape for what it's been through and in case you're wondering its the red cross-hatched vinyl. it may need a new ignition switch because i took that out for the other Z. The body is in really good shape; it has a dent in the right rear which is repairable and it's also forest green but the clear coat is coming off all over....like i said...it is a project car and needs a little love. I'm selling it with an original radiator, a leaking 3-core aluminum radiator, MSA Type II Body Kit, and extra stock engine components. I will post this again with pictures so you can see it...i just want to see if i can get any replies in the first place.

Rotisserie
How much did that cost and is that hard to set up? I wouldn't mind being able to get to those hard to reach spots just by turning my car on it's side or upside-down. I plan on building up another 280z I have.

Should i get a performance Monza exhaust system?
Get a Flowmaster exhaust. They sound beefy and give good power. Mine screams at high rpms and belows at low rpms. No ricer sound either. Also I've had mine for at least 3-4 years and I have no problems with it at all. I've seen a Z with Monza exhaust and I didn't think it sounded so nice.

Not Starting!!? need help...
It is fuel injected and I can tell you I don't remember hearing the motor running. I did smell gas but I don't think the motor was running. How do I check the pick-up? don't I have to drop the whole tank to do that??

Eibach Springs for '77 280Z
i remember reading the catalog and online that eibach stopped making struts and springs for 77 and 78 280z's...I do know that they are right about the tokico springs still being available but I'm not sure how good those are....?

Not Starting!!? need help...
Hey I got another 77' z not all that long ago that was in non-running condition. They guy I got it from let it rot on his driveway for 3 or so years. The motor had supposedly been "rebuild" or something like that and all that needed to be done was put the motor back together and it "should run". I got the car for 100 bucks so I wasn't complaining... Well, I got the parts i needed...couple nuts and bolts and an old radiator..nothing much really. I just bolted the intake and exhaust manifold back up...made sure everything was connected...changed the oil..new fuel filter...got new plugs...changed out the old gas with new gas.... Anyways...So it's all ready to go and when I go to start it it cranks pretty loud but I mean it sounds like it should start but it doesnt. So i figure it must be fuel...so I disconnect the fuel line to the fuel filter and turn the ignition on and find out no gas is even coming through there. Now I'm not about to take apart the whole fuel rail because we all know that's not fun. When I was trying to start it..I could smell gas coming from somewhere but I couldn't locate it. I'm thinking that my fuel pump isn't working so can someone tell me how to check?? Is there a way to fix fuel pumps?....Or does someone think it might be something else?? Should I disconnect a fuel line right by the fuel pump and see if that works?? I'm kinda stuck in a rut right now and I'm not too sure where to look here....maybe someone here knows. I would just liek to get this car running for now until I have the money for the rb swap.

What is the most important quality you want in a Z?
Yeah I just want a race Z that's street legal....lookin' at the rb 26dett....pretty much decided that's what's going in my other Z that's sitting on the side of my house.....all I can do right now is save money for the motor....with my current yellow z i need all new suspension because that original supension has gone to $^!#. I'm lookin' at getting full shocks and struts....rear disk brake conversion....and maybe even a full bushing kit. any suggestions?....I may just do all that to my other Z and get it ready for the rb...but i dunno..?
