Here in Germany Nissan ever sold only 2+2 versions. Ti started with the 260z 2+2, went on with all 280 ZX as 2+2, all 300 ZX as 2+2 and ended with the 300ZX Twin Turbo as 2+2. Have a look at www.zx-club.de surfing for great pics, for instance tuned by Stosek. BTW, here we never had a NA version or the cabrio officially. Rolf

A article on the Le Mans Z would be great. I have some few pictures and the 1:43 resine model. At the 24 H de Spa there once raced a red 260Z 2+2. Is anybody on the list who knows about that car or who has pictures or an idea how to get more infos. The belgian automobile club couldn't or wouldn't helpp on my e-mail request Rolf
  3. Howdy Z-friends around the world, my name is Rolf-Karl Doehring. I'm 57 years old, married for 26 years, no children but 5 Datsun/Nissan: 2 '72 240 Z, 1 '82 280ZX 2+2 , 1 '88 300ZX 2+2 Tubo and a little Micra (March in the US, I think) as daily city driver. I got my first Z, a 260 Z 2+2 , in 1976. I'm working for 22 years now for the german paper industries association as head business administration and statistics/market research on european level. My hometown is Bornheim, near Cologne, overlooking the river Rhine. I visited the US 4 times for holidays and got some good friends there, all Z drivers. One of my 240Z got badly damaged in an international rallye event . So it's totally stripped now, but I will built it "bottom up" again and it will become better than before. By the way, I think that we have only about 25 240Z here in Germany. Parts are not awailable so I have to buy it all in the US - expensive job because of shipment, customs and taxes. but big fun when it runs. This is now the 2nd time I'm restoring a Z. All the best to all of you !

Hi Z-friends, I have 2 '72 240Z, one with SUs, 6 to 2 header and original exhaust system and one with 3 Double SKs(with horns), 6 to 2 header, turbo muffler, Crane ignition, el. fuel pump, el. fan, add. oil cooling, but stock cam. #1 Z is my "elegant" Z, quiet, comfortable and it has a radio. # 2 is my beast: Loud, tough and with direct response. The radio that was in at first was the first thing I took off. The sound of the engine is the best music to me. Looking at a stop watch there is no big difference in acceleration or top speed while both cars have the original cam and head. Different are fun, fuel consumption (not that much) and maintenance. Finetuning the 3 SKs is a science of it's own, but I like it! Which car I prefer ? It's depending on the purpose , on the kind of roads I plan to drive and on my wife. She prefers the yellow/white (interior) #1 with ( basic original) leather seats to the racing seat and harness in #2, but there she misses the sound , the feeling and the attention from outside. Rolf
