Hi all, MSA doesn't offer the so called G-Nose any more. Are there other dealers or producers that you know? Rolf
  3. I agree with Deadflo. The european Zs had that small front lip and a rear spoiler. You can see that on my yellow Z in my gallery.

  8. The struts of the early Z were different to those of the later Z. I think Datsun changed the dimensions '75. The diameter of the early strut is 51 mm, the later has 55mm, so the gland nuts have to be different, too. The distance between the spring seat and the strut's top end is 14 cm for the early z and 13 for the younger ones, so the length of the springs is differen, too. The offset of the brake discs is also different, so take care. I had to learn that lesson the hard way with my front suspension. Either you change everything to the younger components or the elder version, but a mixture will need a lot of skills and work. By the way, at the rear the spacers are important ... see my post ahead!
  9. Using the Eibach springs you have to look verty carefully to have them installed correctly. I had the top end downside and when the car had a jump across a railway the rear spring bended and crashed into the strut house. I sent pictures to Eibach and they explained that I had installed the springs upside down. Unfortunately I can't remember how to find out, I think there is a dot on the spring and I think at the front it was different to the rear. Can't look at the car as I've sold it, sorry, I can only say "be careful". Rolf
  10. Hi all, thanks for your repy. In between I learened the hard way. The struts are different: The outer diameter of the tube is 4mm more (as Camourflage mentioned) for the later struts and the inner, too, so you need different cartouches, the springs are shorter and stronger, the spring seat to to tube's upper end is 1 cm less and the offset of the brake disks is different. I was told these changes were made mid 1947, but I'm not shure. As early Zs are very, very rare here I have to look in the US (zbarn.com for instance) or to alter both sides to the 74 2+2's front suspension. Some of these cars were sold here and I saw on a scrabyard. Rolf
  11. No experts who can help me?
  12. Hi friends, restoring a '72 240 Z I got a problem when I put the wheel on the left front axle, the tire get's in contact with the spring seat! The strut is from a car that had a crash at the left side. As it is extremely difficult to get 240Z parts here in Germany I have a problem. I got offered a strut from a 73 260Z 2+2 and from a 74 260Z 2+2. I saw that the springs are different, that's no problem exept if the spring seats would be different. Can I just bolt on the mentioned struts instead of the original '72 one or do I run into troubles? Thanks for your support in advance Rolf
  13. Thank you, you are really encouraging me!
