Hey, i have the same problem with more then a few of my studs, for someone like me who does not have the right tools, is it worth it to just go out and but the tools for the job or is it better to let a pro handle the job? And does anyone know how much it would cost for a mechanic to put in new ones?

sorry not familiar with these parts whats the TB and plenum, and do they need to be changed to do the swap?

does anyone know if the 280z manifolds and 280zx manifold are interchangeable, and if so whats a easy method of telling the diff. between the two

Quick question, does any one know of the whole intake manifold, fuel injectors,fuel rails assembly is different from the Zx's. My uncle had a intake manifold with injectors and everything for me and it looks different from mine, which is a 76 280, I know if from a different year from mines, is there a way to tell?

hey guys thatnks for all the advice, "I also have an automatic and I find that at 2,000 rpm I'm running @ 30 mph or thereabouts. It takes 3,500 rpm to go 60-70 " That sounds right to me, my car's RPM is about the same so i dont know what goin on. I tried the fuel injector cleaners many times and it doesnt help at all. Since i got the car i never did any maintinance with the trans., I really think its an issue with my transmission fluid, to change my transmission fluid, would that be hard or just as easy as changing my oil? For all the automatic Z's out there whats an average full tank for you?

im still new to all the engine coimponents.but i haven't replaced the fuel filter in a while but could that really be the problem? but thanks for the tips

Im in need of a new transmission. i have the original tranny and it still works but vibrates on second gear. I fell like im not getting the full Z experience with this worn out tranny. and i have been searching on the procedure but cant seem to find it. Im getting the transmission from a japan parts place in South San Francisco, and want to know if theres any 280z out there who have already done this in the past, which im sure they have but cant seem to find them in the forums. I just need some quick tips on the procedure or a link, and want my z to be running like new again thanks.

Does anyone know if the poor mans tune up actually is good for your car? When i read #15, i remember that every time i red line my z in first (automatic) i can see lot of smoke in my rear view after shifting to second. Is this a fact that it does help clean your engine of unwanted $^!# or is it just an educated guess? because if it is then im tempted to do on tonight

Im kinda new to the forums so just work with me. I own a 76 280z (auto)or about 3-4 years now and have done alot to fix it up, from the engine to the body work. and i have a huge fuel problem, ANY TIPS? Heres an example of my problem: I filled up the tank which is about 13-14 gallons and filled it up with premium fuel. then drove it for a couple days, with some speeding here and there, and not even by the end of the week my tank is empty and i only got 140-150 miles for a full tank. I got 200 miles from a full tank once and that was like a year or two ago. could the injectors be old or is something wrong with my engine. i figured the original transmission is holding it back alittle but it cant be doing that much damage. Any suggestions would really help me out thanks.

Yea i think that if you are going for the old school vintage look the 15's are the way to go. I need some tips from you guys, if you got a second. I also have a set thats 14x6 and are not chrome, I cant decide if i should chrome the set or get them power coated black to match my car that is also black. i can go with the black and chrome or go with black on black. If anyone has any suggestions it would really help THANKS

I have a 76 280z and i am thinking about getting these old school slotted mag rims. I have seen them on alot of Z's and they look great and want them on mines but they were off a 240z. If anyone who has these rims on their 280z, or if any one would know if they will fit.i will update with a picture tonight thanks

Need a new set of springs for my 76 z. I bought some used (stock)ones from a junk yard, and now they are wearing out. I need a new Set that would only slightly lower my car and will still be a smooth ride

I have a auto 76 that badly needs a new repaleced tranny. I have a original one in there right now. Should I buy a used tranny or just spend the money on rebuilding a new one?

I have 76 280z that probably has the original 76 transmission in it. It has lost alot of power and i want to get a better one so my ride would be a bit more smother. I have a '76 z that i had for a while, i just got the turn signals to work . when i turn on my hazards only the right side flashes and the left doesnt. Both signals work when i hit the switch but when i turn on my hazards only one side coems on. If any one knows when the problem could be it would really be helpful. I have to pass some inspection for the DMV b4 i can register the car.
