Hi to all of you from Germany
Guten Tag! Welcome to the club Jurgen. Very nice looking car you have there, I am sure you'll get plenty of attention with it compared to all the Opels, VW's, BMW's Audi's and such :classic:

Because you stole it, now it won't work and will cause your motor to sieze, costing you far more than if you had paid for it in the first place! :beard:

240Z Battery Size
After searching the archives, I was unable to find the info I need. I want to know if anyone can tell me what size battery is closest to the original size battery for the 240Z? Also, if anyone has any recommendations for where to get one (NTB, Sears, PepBoys, etc) and what specific battery they sell that is a match, that would be great as well.

? about license plates
Thank goodness Georgia does not require two plates! When I was exiled to Upstate NY they required two plates, but I just kept the front one in the truck, and said it came off in the car wash if I was ever asked about it :classic: @zhead240Z, don't try to push your two plates on us! :classic:

Little help with an MGB?
Sorry Carl, I didn't think that it would be of interest to anyone here! I said basically what Arne said, price and all. I also doubted the 29K mileage claim, and stated it looked more like 129K+. Only other things I pointed out were that the drivers door was not hung properly (it's too low), that the car had obviously been repainted recently, and that there was a slight fit issue around the top corners of the grill -- indicative of either a new hood, grill or both -- also possibly a drivers side front fender based on the door and the slightly wider gap between the hood and the fender. It also looks like the dash was repainted some years ago, as it is missing the crackle paint finish. I also recommended photos of the underside - and some of the car being jacked up using the original jack to demonstrate if the sills are solid. (A good way to tell of the sills are solid is to jack the car up and watch for the door gaps to shift, or worse yet, to see if the sill actually bends/dents). I will disagree with Arne on driving the B roadster however. Provided it is not too hot, I really enjoy driving the B and drove it regularly for many years before I got my Z's. Now I switch off to make sure they all get exercise. Don't get me wrong, I love driving my Z's, but for me, they can't beat a nice top down fall cruise throught the N. Georgia mountains in the B :classic: Now compare a BGT to a Z, and that's a completely different story!

Replace the springs?
From your Avatar, I would guess that the car is disassmbled right now. If not, then there are several threads that provide factory ride height measurements, you can find them, as well as loads of other useful info if you do a search on "springs". If you want to replace them, be warned that OEM springs are NLA for the most part.

She's finally painted! Pictures
You could always do what I used to do when I lived in a state that required front plates -- take it off, keep it behind the seat and if asked, tell the officer it came off at the car wash, and you just need to get it put back on :classic:

Sweet story: Guy reminisces over Z
Nice story, you earned your "kharma" points that day :classic: I have had similar things happen with my MGB. Even helped the last guy find one for himself and fullfill a life-long dream he had -- feels really good to do that! Next time, get their email address and send them a few links to other Z's for sale and maybe they can get one of their own!

Country Music
I've never heard of these bands being referred to as "country" or "pop" or crossover bands (except the last one) - I've never heard them referred to as anything other than "southern rock" bands wherever I lived.

I miss my Z!!!

Factory Restored 240Z's
Chris, while my car is indeed on the list, it is obvious it was never "restored". From the info I have, it was owned by an Admiral, traveled around the world and was then bought by the Nissan folks for the VZ program. Some mechanical work appears to have been done to it, but they never got as far as the body or interior. The car then sat in the Nissan warehouse until last fall, when it was purchased from Nissan when they were clearing out their warehouse. My understanding is that until they actually got the car out of the warehouse, it was believed to have been one of the restored VZ cars. It was purchased by our mutual aquaintence who has several VZ cars already, and I purchased it from him :classic: So I guess that makes my car a very unique car, being the one VZ car that is not a really a VZ car! Someday I hope to get more info to see what was actually done to the car by the VZ shop!

See Randy, if you'd gotten an early MGB instead of that Truimph, you would not even be thinking of getting rid of her :classic:

First Datsun owner. Socal.
Welcome to the board! Where exactly is Inland Empire anyway? :classic: I am sure you'll love your ZX even more once you start driving it. I am fortunate to have a couple of choices of which car to drive each day, and somehow I almost always pick a Z!
