dash light problem
Did you actually change the fuses to make sure they were good? In my case, the fuse looked good, but apparently it was not because when I changed it, everything worked again. Then when I examined the fuse closely, I saw that it had burned out right near the end, which was hidden under the metal caps at the end. I always recommend trying the simplest things first (i.e. change the fuse even if it looks good) before ripping everything apart. However, as mriz stated, if replacing the fuse makes no difference, next check would be a dirty or loose connection.

dash light problem
Not sure if you have the same fuse set up as my '73 240Z, but the same fuse for the tailights is the fuse for the interior lights. IIRC, the fuse is not labeled as such, but when mine went, I did not have rear tailights (brake lights still worked) or interior lights. Also, the fuse looked good, but when I replaced it, all the lights worked fine. Also IIRC, the fuse is on the right side of the fuse panel, and was the 2nd or 3rd from the top.

What is the most attractive part of a Z?
My favorite view of the Z is sitting in the drivers seat looking out over the awesome hood/front fender design. :-)

Question -- are those Panaports on the red Z car (in front of your car)? Also, what size are they?

Thinking of selling my Z... advice?
As for the market price of a nice 240Z, I have seen a couple of very nice ones sell for $13K and $19.5K recently. That being said, I personally think you should keep it, as I don't think you'll end up saving very much on gas costs by switching to a different car, as you would really need to get some very, very high mpg in order to really save any significant $$$. Finally, while you may make some profit on the car you sell now, you will definately lose it and end up paying more when you 'buy back in'.

new member and need advice, 240Z or 260Z?
Mike, Let me guess, you went to look at the Red 240Z at "Classic and Investment Autos" in Gainsville, GA that was listed on Hemmings? Your right, that thing really needs a lot of work. Did you notice that the dash cover was not even attached? I also have an MGB! Are you a professional restorer, or do you just do your own cars? Shoot me an email or PM with your contact info, I may be able to help you out!

New Poll of the month!
I would have to quote Pink Floyd and say "Any Colour You Like". As long as you like it, then its the right color! Personally, I prefer red or orange/red :-)

Gas Prices?
The thing that makes me mad is when gas prices jump up $.10 because the per barrel price goes up a couple of bucks, but they don't jump back down the next day when the price per barrel goes down a couple of bucks. Let's face it, US Oil Companies have figured out that we will buy gas no matter if it is $1.00 a gallon or $2.50 a gallon, so they naturally charge the higher price. The thing that really gets me mad is knowing I am getting screwed by the oil companies and I can't really do anything about it, and to top it off, they don't even have the courtesy to provide a complimentary jar of Vasaline!

GA Body Shop
Run, don't walk, away from Flashback!! The owner, Richard Gossett, started out as Olde English Garage. He moved to Cumming and changed the name of the business (and sold it to himself), I suspect mainly in an effort to avoid liability for not delivering what was promised on a number of guys cars, including my '66 MGB. Quote from him "I only purchased the assets of Olde English Garage, not the liabilities". I have been trying for a long time now to get him to either fix my MGB right (the list of things done wrong is long and includes both bodywork and mechanical things) or refund my $$$, neither of which he has been willng to do. In fact, I have been driven to thinking of legal action as a last resort. My current MGB mechanic has also had to go pick up and fix several cars from them that were messed up and the owners got tired of dealing with Flashback for satisifaction. So, my advice based on the bad experiences I and several others have had is to stay clear of these guys. They talk the talk, but don't walk the walk! Doug
