  4. hey everyone, i'm interested in bringing my 240z to a track. i just purchased the car a few months ago and wanted to see if anyone knows where a track that i could test and maybe race my car thanks
  5. hey guys i'm steven 27 enganged and bought my first z. a 73' with an L28 and rust. i'm self employed. been a car freak since about 13. no kids. my first time with a carb car. so far it runs great. live in atlanta, ga.
  6. thanks everyone.. i had mentioned burning a quart of oil because i was planning on rebuilding the motor, either for turbo or n/a. i've decided to go turbo and FI. i've seen the carb turbos and am just not familiar with that set up.
  7. my goals, as with most people, is more power. i figured with the FI i could turbocharge the motor and achieve more power. also i have an extra intercooler, piping, turbo and a few other turbo stuff. and could make the manifold myself.
  8. when i purchased the car i had this setup in it already. the car drives good but is burning oil at the rate of about 1 or so quarts a week. i was going to rebuild the motor. i've done alot of late model turbo cars (supras, 240sx's, honda's, mitsu's, etc...) and like turbos.
  9. i have a 73 240z with an L28. would it be better to run FI if so what would i need for the conversion. thanks
  10. oh and. curtis thats a great looking car..
  11. well the reason i'm going with 17 is because when i bought my car it came with 17" wheels. the tires are 215 45 in the front and 225 45 in the rear i figured the rims were 8" wide. i like the look of the 17s and the tires are practictly brand new so that would save me money if i just bought the rims. the wheels that are on it are konigs, not sure what style though.

  18. i'm in the process of repainting my 73z . it seems to have about 5 layers of paint and minor rust. should i strip paint down to the metal. if so whats the best way to do that. i've used power sanders and a few other things to sort of grind the paint off but it takes a while. i'm not trying to build a show car but want it to look good. thanks

hey whats up i just bought a 73' 240z. its in pretty good condition but could use body work and little things here and there. my ? is the guy i bought it from told me it had an L28 motor in it. i couldn't find anything numbers on the block (i still have to degrease some of it though) the only thing i saw was on the head which read E88. how can i tell if its an L28 or L24. its a 5 speed tranny. it has the two carbs on it too. the car runs great though i just want to know which motor it is. ok just two more ?s . what kind of power can i get out of this motor L28 or L24. i've built lots of jap late model performance cars but have never had anything with carbs. and can u turbocharge these motors. ok 1 more ?. i read in some threads that the 73 is not as good as the earlier models, why? thanks

hey, i just bought a 73 240z. i've had the car for 3 days and love it. theres alot of work that i want to do on it. and will need some help with the buildup. i was a honda tech at a local dealer for a while and worked at several performance shops. my problem is that i've never worked on a carb. i ve built lots of motors and some manual trannys but they were on late model cars. see ya. i'll post some pics too later
