Your opinion on tires.
I'm riding on SUMITOMO 225/60's, I choosed that size for the exact fit width by the closest original hight, 205's are si thin according to me and if they are by 60 they'll be lowe and stiffer than the 225/60. and you'll spin the wheel more if the radius is smaller which (may) give a bad reading on your speedometer! (not definately sure about the last part ok, dont attack me:))

beandip! that white color tip sound great, but unfortunatelly I have all of my gagues back in thier places:( I would definitely paint them if I knew that! but they wont glow more than the speedo meter gague and the tach.? it might be a bigger job then;)

Springs for 280Z, Eibach??
but for an overseas buyer it doesn't seem so good from the way of payment and delivery.. I just need them to be delivered to NY though.. I can order ST springs but I read that they are very stiff.. on the other hand there are to tokicos springs which are also stiff.. were Eibach's springs available in older stocks? coz I found some of them on some websites with the part number 6303.140.. or I just should go for 240Z's springs and it could lower the car more than 1"?

Springs for 280Z, Eibach??
well I did a sweet search for spare parts, I found out that a 280Z's Eibach springs have the part #6303-140 which can't be found in the official Eibach's wesite, is it possible that they are not making any of them anymore? I found it on this link: http://www.sdpc2000.com/appguide_eib.asp?theyear=1978&themake=NISSAN&themodel=280Z

Springs for 280Z, Eibach??
I'm planning to buy new spring set for my 1977 280Z as many people recomended, I searched for them on VB, I noticed that they are available only for 240Z, part number at VB 87-900 for Eibach on the other hand, Suspension Techniques have for 280Z on VB with part number 87-801.. on shox.com they have eibach springs for 240Z only, and when I search for 280Z it shows 280Z all trims from 79-83!? they mean ZX don't they? from where do 280Z cars owners have Eibach springs? or they just fit a 240Z spring set on thier cars? coz if it was supposed to loer the car by 1" on a 240, it will lower a 280Z a bit more and might handle differently..am I right? thanx

Rear Suspension
on my friends 280Z they were the same, maybe Nissan fixed that difference in later Z cars;) (joke)! or one of them is not original? coz they can get cracked sometimes, that friend had both cracked at the bended area! the ones I saw were similar to the one on the right (both) but maybe they should be like yours, who knows!? I don't:) anyway, good luck..

Temperature Gauge
Bill, from your post, I understood that you are sure from that you short circuited the wire that is connecting the sensor to the gague.. I had the same problem, my gague was dead, I had a new sensor in my hand and wasn't sure that it is a sensor fault, I short circuited the wire to the flange mounting, it didn't work.. then gues what, I did it again but I scratched the tip of the wire harder to the flange and the gague showed a full scale reading! make sure that u are connecting the wire to the body (or better to the (-) of the battery).. there is a way that u can know if your cable (at least the part under the hood which u can see) is ok by penetrating a needle into the insulation of the wire and connect it to the (-) of the battery! if u get a reading then the part after is bad.. in worse case if u have to remove the gague, well, good be with u, coz both ways are hard, I did it through the glove box on my 280Z, well, I needed to remove the front panel and it wasn't that easy for me coz u might meet jammed screws or hardly tightened ones.. maybe to do it by removing the heater or what ever way it is is better, maybe more parts to remove, but at least safer for you parts.. be very carefull with the old parts pal.. ugood luck.

Compression rod bushing arrangment
oh Palmer, this is a new sleeve that the dealer claimed that all datsuns have, it is "about" 2" long.. is it the same length you were mentioning by "exactly 2 inches"?? will it make a big problem to have it like this if it is shorter?
-
Compression rod bushing arrangment
in the attached pictures is my left hand comp. rod with the new bushing on the right and the right hand comp. rod with the old bushing on the left, look how did that sinner make the assembly! on pic2 the sleeves that have 46mm and 33mm which I assume wrong for both refering to Palmer's post about the length being 2 inches=>51mm! pic3 shows the sleeve with one bushing rubber and see how short it is! it'll hide if I insert the second one almost at the middle of it! so what do u think of those people guys!

Ball joint gap???
there should be a gap, but not sure how big it should be, if you want just give me some time and I'll reply to u with a photo of mine (if possible) since the car is jacked for the comp. rod;) maybe your ball joint is not original??

Does this make anyone else sick?
time waster! he'll burn in hell for thatLOL

Compression rod bushing arrangment
2 inches!!:dead: that is 50.8mm! oh $^!#, I found out that one side's sleeve has 46mm and on the other side is 33mm! I would kill the pre-owner of my car! I felt something wrong when I sat the sleeve hiding much inside the bushing! that explains it.. Palmer, thanks a lot..
