  1. Hi all! Long time no talk... Things have been busy. Z is doing good and am spending money on it so that makes her happy. Anyone have a set of 280 strut housings/uprights they'd like to sell? I've got some new Advanced Design struts coming and I know they won't fit the 240 uprights... Thanks, -e
  2. Ron, Provided I can afford the prices it hits as we get nearer to the close of the auction then I will throw in my $$$ to get my hands on it... We'll see... Depends on how many other people are thinking the same thing and where your reserve is set too... -e

sennavsprost (a board member here) found this on youtube... Well done I must admit... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vQzI9EnrpY -e
  6. Yeah! Thanks Alan... Now to see if MichelinUSA officially has these imported or not... -e
  7. Alan, Is AVON the only tyre manufacturer over the that still has something available for 15x11 rims? It's getting quasi impossible here unfortunately. Unless of course you come across some NOS tires from a 911 RSR that is being parted out (there was just such a set two weeks ago)... I had found a beautiful set of 15x12 Watanabe (OK maybe a little excessive in width) recently but simply could not find ANY tires to fit so I passed on them... I'm even starting to have trouble getting good tires in more sedate 225/45R15 sizes... US tire availability is not what it used to be considering you can get a stock MINI with 18" wheels now, for example... Since the DOT is relatively lenient on importing old cars to the US, I wonder how they will feel when I start to have to order new tires from Japan or Europe... Comments? -e
  8. check it out... more than just the usual suspects... http://www.flickr.com/groups/japaneseclassiccars/pool/ -e
  9. Alan, Congrats on the article, but what happened to fitting these wheels on one of yours cars? no dice? -e
  10. Victor, Those flare are only 15x9? really? hmmm -e
  11. From the pic, I'm guessing they stick out maybe twice as far? Any ideas? I'd really like some kind of dimension... Thanks, -e
  12. Anyone happen to know how much the works/semi-works rear fender flares stick out from the body on a S30 in comparison to the commonly available street flares (which are replicas of what came on the ZGs)? There was a red S30 in the parking lot outside the Japanese Classic in Long Beach two months ago but I neglected to take a measurement even though I did take some pics... -e
  13. Lachlan, Don't do it - it's probably not what you want to hear... but don't. Go through the garage and sell all the unused spares on eBay and make some $$ that way, take on a second evening job if you have to but don't sell the car. -e

Wow... doesn't surprise me but wow... Now that I've had time to think about it I still think the 4 digit SF price tag was reasonable given it was factory parts... Shoulda called the bank and had them loan me the $$$$... So anyone know what happened to it? Not someone on here I take it... I am happily married to someone who still has their first car - a 74 Karmann Ghia so it's nice to know the car passion is shared. However if getting married means you have to give up all your prized possessions (and I'm not talking the velvet Elvis hanging above your couch in your bachelor pad) then dare I say it there's something wrong there... Oh well, best of luck to the newly married ex-JDM parts guy... Bummer... -e

A while ago someone posted an SF Bay Area craigslist ad for a set of all the factory G-nose parts... the craigslist post has been deleted and I don't see a subscription to that thread in my UserCP... Anyone know what happened to it? Did someone on here buy it? Regrets... regrets... regrets.... -e
  16. Kats, Congratulations on your find!... -e
  17. Ha! I hadn't seen Alan's posting.... sorry guys... And I didn't find out about the magazine until this past weekend... Remember those "...Dietrich?" t-shirts I made a while back? The ones that had to do with Stefan Eriksson crashing his Ferrari Enzo on Pacific Coast Hwy 1 near Malibu and the insane story that followed?... Well on another forum (ferrarichat) I posted that I was going to be going down to the Crystal Cove car show with a box full of t-shirts for all the interested parties. I put a pic of my car so people would know how to recognize me. That led to www.zacharymayne.com emailing me out of the blue asking if I'd be interested in having an article written about the Z. How could I refuse? He lives in AZ and while we re-scheduled a couple times we did finally meet at the end of July on Rocky Peak which separates the San Fernando valley from Simi valley here in Los Angeles. It was one of those 115deg days we had... Hot hot hot... For the "action" shots (not picture in this article) he had me drive back and forth on the twisty road behind the Rocketdyne facility with the windows rolled up... Needless to say I was sweating like mad by the end of it. I guess he also submitted a similar story with other pics from the shoot to Grassroots Motorsport - but I haven't seen anything published yet. Fingers crossed on that one too... Yup, recognition is always nice! -e
  18. Hi everyone... A little bit of self promotion if you don't mind... My Z's been published! Yeah! It's on the cover of the October issue of a British mag called RetroCars which I have seen commonly available at the local Barnes&Noble. I just found out and bought a couple copies. I'll scan and post pics tonight as the mag doesn't have any online coverage... Now if only I can get the car to feel as good as it looks in the pics.... -e

  20. Miles You never heard of the old R30 Silhouette race car referred to as IronMask? Really? I'm surprised but then again nothing's impossible... Glad you guys posted the list although I did do a double take when I saw: White KGC10 owned by Eric outside of L.A. ... for a split second there I thought the wife had a surprise coming that I didn't know about.... hahahaha... just kidding. ... although wouldn't that be something, eh?... -e
  21. at last count and depending on who you ask there's 6 to 12 in the USA. 4 of which are in the LA area: silver 4 door, silver 2 door, dark blue 2 door, white kenmeri coupe. -e
