He GAVE you a GT-R? Seriously? As fantastic as this is I am somehow not surprised coming from the Japanese... What an amazing people... Check my avatar: I was given a single S20 piston several years ago by the shop owner of Refresh60... I guess I have to work my way up one part at a time... -e

  9. my ex-boss apparently had the first ariel atom in the states, never got a ride, but the fit and finish on those things was pretty darn impressive and it is very customizable from the factory so you can get exactly what you want for any budget... cooper s is nice too! I just picked up ours last night at the dealership. Still getting to know it but so far I've got one silly grin I can't seem to wipe off.

B-pillarless sedans are pretty freakin elegant with the glass wound down I think... I assume there must be some kind of rubber seal between the front and rear side glass panes, no? How is it fastened? Just glued on or are the windows framed? Curious... -e

oil is cheap... if you're really worried get a clean container, drain it into that and pour it back into your engine afterwards... -e

you also ought to consider a trip down to Tsukiji Fish Market in the early morning on a weekday for the freshest sushi ever and to see these trucks which are equally a fantastic sight... Just like Bosozoku I would never attempt anything similar to that on anything I owned but I gotta say I love how outrageous the cars (& trucks) are... -e

that's not a yearly event... that's a weekly event when the weather is nice!!! what you are looking at is the parkinglot/rest area at the foot of Yokohama Bay Bridge. If you aren't in a car coming off of the freeway, you need to grab a cab from Yokohama train station and ask to go to Daikoku Parking Lot at the foot of Yokohama Bay Bridge. However because it is a freeway rest stop there's no easy way to get to it from the local side streets. You basically need to jump the perimeter fence behind the McDonald's there. It's a fun place to go if you've never been because it caters to all kinds of cars, not just these wild and crazy one. There's a section for old Nostalgic Heroes, there's a section of kei-cars with thousands spent on HiFi and a bunch of kids dancing in front of them, there's a section of highly tuned current Skylines and Supras (some you'd swear came straight from the last round of JGTC), etc etc Friday night and Saturday night after 9Pm is a good time to go and be prepared to stay a while. Who knows, if you ask the right person nicely you might get a ride on the freeway at triple digit speeds, or better yet if you are willing to fork over $$$ to pay the toll you might be able to convince someone to go do a high speed run in the tunnel that goes underneath Tokyo Bay which late at night is usually free of any commercial traffic... <hint, hint> <nudge, nudge> -e

Some sellers have zero patience... A couple months ago a friend found a perfect daily driven early two headlight Alfa GTV in the classifieds for US$5000. He called the owner immediately, inquired about the condition, was convinced and told him he would come over ASAP as soon as he had stopped by the bank to retrieve said funds. Total elapsed time door to door was about an hour. He gets there, no GTV. The owner had in the meantime sold it to someone that lived even closer and had litterally just picked it up.... If you can't even make a verbal agreement with the seller when you tell them you will be over in one hour with cash what can you do?.... ...

search the site... 240K is what the KenandMary is called in Australia KPGC110 is the chassis code for the car and that's international since it's the first 7 digits on the VIN #. Again a summary: GC10: 69-72 Skyline Sedan KGC10: 70-72 Skyline Coupe GC110: 73-8 Skyline KenandMary Sedan KGC110: 73-8 Skyline KenandMary Coupe If you add a "P" in there (PGC10, KPGC10, KPGC110) then you are talking about the top of the line GT-R with the fabled S20 engine. Ok? -e
  19. Have to agree that has to be a little Alfa or Fiat... I'm thinking an Alfa Spider... That's definitely the sound of a little Italian 2L 4cyl I'm guessing. Certainly not a Cobra - for starters it's way to small and you would recognize the V8 as it drove by. On the windshield that looks like a GTech Pro meter... ...aahhh good old Thunderhill... Man I miss that place... Haven't been there in like 6 years... Still looks like a great track though. -e

I've got Yokohama Advan A022 on the Z right now and am quite happy with them... Reminds of the old AVS Intermediate days which are now long long gone... Got them from TireRack about a year ago. 205/55R15 front and 225/50R15 rear... I'd definitely get another set... -e

Will Thanks for offering but I think I'll be all good with Victor's set... Thanks though! Tom 4spd is doing just fine actually... i had my 5spd rebuilt some time ago but never swapped it back in... my L28 has a leaky rear main seal and I don't want to put the 5spd in until i fix that... and i haven't gotten around to pulling the engine to fix the main seal so.... 4spd is still in... And yes I am going to Historics this year yet again... Driving up on Friday some time. But not in the Z this time, due to Cooper being the Featured Marque at the track. -e
